Ok. Someone finish that line for me. Technology is great when it works....... I had to show a house for sale today and had my lock box app ready to go. It is possible to get in the door faster than with a card.

Well I had no idea the app wouldn't work. Nothing on this phone works without wifi (I need to talk to my provider). Good thing I had my trusty dusty card that I have incase of emergency. Dusted the card off and got it activated and the day was saved. The folks saw the house and have to talk it over tonight in order to make an offer. (The place will need a lot of work). They aren't kids like myself. (havent felt like a kid in years).

I am learning to always have at least 1 back up plan.

Has technology failed anyone else recently or not so recently?

All the time Kevin. Phones cut out for a few minutes earlier today. We rely on so much technology it seems like once a day when SOMETHING goes down, thankfully it's not usually anything that slows us down much.

Same problem last year. No service, lockbox would not open. Fortunately, the lockbox was sitting on the front porch, not shackled to the door knob. I put it in my car, drove about a mile until the cell phone picked up a signal, and opened the box. Drove back and showed the house.

That was awesome Fred Griffin. It made me laugh because I think it was a cool story. There are places where that box will disappear never to be seen again. I have heard stories.

Kevin, It comes with the territory. One of the reasons I like to have a hard copy map when I'm going to a new neighborhood just in case. And most of our lockboxes are still combos, although we have a phone app for the ones that are electronic.

Guys I am excited and fearful of the next best/worst thing. The next set of boxes we get will be blu tooth enabled. Things could go badly the first few months.

Unfortunately, technology catches a bug from time to time and is down for the count. This time it wasn't the computers or my phone, Kevin Morris .

It was the electronic thermostat in the bank. NO working A/C meant temperatures went up to 79 degrees inside. We had to open all the windows and put fans in all the offices to avoid heat stroke !

Ever try to do a mortgage when the pages of your file are blowing around the room in a wind storm ? It's impossible to hold them down and work effectively on them at the same time.

Fortunately, COOLER heads prevailed after the entire system was replaced !

I am suffering with no power cord for my MacBook today, and waiting for one to arrive in the mail tomorrow. Luckily my back up plan includes either an iPad or an iPhone, so I can still send and receive emails and here I am commenting on activerain. I even managed to finish off a blog post on th iPad.

I often have problems with technology. Recently my Internet has started to behave very strangely, it often just stops working. I had fiber optics installed because I found a great article. I am glad that I was able to find information on my issue and was able to resolve the situation promptly.
