We realtors like to give back to the community where we service people. Over the years I have updated the Cupertino Senior Center, worked at Sunnyvale City Park (3X), and cooked for seniors who are unable to take care of themselves at the Lodge in Morgan Hill, CA.
This is my first time working at Second Food Harvest Bank on First Street near the proposed Spaceship II in San Jose, CA. The Cypress Semiconductors is now closed with a building for Second Food Harvest Bank.
Realty One Group Infinity had a group of realtors volunteered at San Jose downtown Second Food Harvest Bank by sorting and bagging food for individuals.
The Cypress Second Food Harvest Bank is a distribution center for someone who may not be able to afford to buy their own. However, I notice there are a some unwanted foods. Baby formulas, jars of peanut butter already consumed. Lots of munches. Snacks from airlines and rusted and expired food cans. Some donations are on recall list--Cheerios. The more protein rich food is in short supply explained by Mike Watson who overseas the operation. I mentioned to Mike Watson that we actually worked together at Curtner Bank when I volunteered once a week until 10 years ago.
This is a relatively small group but we hope to grow in the future. This is what I contributed in 2015 at the senior center kitchen cookout. We love being able to pitch in and give back to a community that we love! We hope you also like to help others.
