As I sit here pondering the work week that lays ahead, a question arose from my study.  What disinguishes you from all of the other Realtors?  It is a fair question.  I could say honesty and integrity, but then, so could most of the Realtors on my board.  Besides, it has been my experience that the more someone tell me about their honesty and integrity, the more I reach to make sure that my wallet is still there.

Honesty and Integrity, are best shown, not bragged about, at least in my opinion.  So this isn't an easy question, I am still working on my answer, but what is it that Darcy and I do better than everyone else in our board?  That is the hard question, and even more difficult, how can we make this a marketing advantage.  Something that benefits our clients, and separates us from the competition.

While we ponder this, I wold ask each of you the same question, what distinguishes you?  Think about it.  The answer once we come to it, will most likely make us all better Realtors!  Have a Great Week!

My distinguishing trait is I actually do 'care' about my clients.  Whether I am working with a buyer or seller I put the same energy into their needs as I would my own mother.  I wouldn't let her buy a house I didn't feel good about just to earn a commission.  I would try to get the highest and best price for my seller.  I have been doing this a while so I do not need to brag.  I am fortunate.  My clients blow my horn plenty!

Hi Tony & Darcy, my broker asked me the same question and the first thing I said was my honesty, my broker said, what Realtor is going to say that they are not honest, so like you I am still working on my answer.  Hey does the fact that I actually love this business count!  Well I will keep trying.

Have a great day!

I feel that communication for me is a strong suit.  I will pick up my phone and make the difficult calls and have the tough discussions.  And, interwoven in that, is the fact that I'm treating my clients honestly and fairly.

it has been my experience that the more someone tell me about their honesty and integrity, the more I reach to make sure that my wallet is still there.

Man, isn't that the truth.

As for what distinguishes me.  Well, that's easy.  My good looks, of course. :)  Joking aside, I think what separates us is the fact that we deliver the news/info/advice sellers need to hear, rather than what they want to hear.  That and I do what I say I'm going to do, without fail.

How about hands on experience living "off the grid" for decades - using solar and wind power to power up our homes?  Does that distinguish me?

An instructor asked the very same question in one of my class one day. I have to say that I gain clients' trust very quickly. I am not sure how or why but perhaps it's my innate ability and also that I speak from my heart and clients can feel that.

Thanks everyone for your comments:

Melody, that is a great trait, you are definately getting ahead of me in this business!

Donna, Communication is Key!  Wonderful to recognize that and use that with your clients.

Lorinda, Loving the business is a great thing!  We also love the business, that is what keeps us going.

Jesse, Great traits, that really distinguishes you from a lot of Realtors!  Being able to be up front regardless if it is what the client wants to hear is great!

Georgina, living in Maui counts for me!  You truly live in a beautiful place!  Being able to live off of the grid is also great experience to share with clients.

Loreena, That is also a great trait, you are way ahead in the game if you can quickly gain a clients trust!

Thanks again everyone for you comments.  We will come to what also makes us different than our competitors, thanks for your input!

I'm surprised that no one here has mentioned their knowledge of a specific area.  Our clients want to know that they are paying us to do something they can't - negotiating contracts, marketing, all of that is a given when you hire a professional (or should be), but a Realtor should also know their area inside and out - the clients don't know what they don't know, and that can cause problems down the road if they don't have someone on their side asking the right questions and doing the research.  What sets you apart is a great question - so is "would you hire yourself?" - answer honestly!

Its hard to distinguish yourself out there. I would say reputation that you have in your community makes for the best compliments.

Tony, I think that going that extra mile for my clients and giving them great customer service is what distinguishes me from the next.

Yes, I understand, but when you go to a surgery, do you really want to know why and what distinguishes this surgeon from another, or you rather want the surgeons doing this operation, be all EQUALLY good?

Do our cliients deserve the same?
