I am Michael Thornton of Complete Home Inspections, and I am BOLD. For those of you who are affiliated with Keller Williams or are familiar with KW culture, you know what I am talking about. Today, I attended the break-out session of BOLD which was taught by Beth Torrence, a former KW agent from the Brentwood/Franklin area turned BOLD coach. This was Beth’s first time to teach here in her hometown and we all appreciated a local being the coach.
We all have fears. For some, it is picking up the phone and calling folks. For others, it might be door knocking or calling FSBO’s or expired’s. We do what we are comfortable with in generating our leads and so we get stuck in the rut called our ‘comfort zone’. That is the reason that many us, myself included, earn what we do and come to the end of our lives feeling we could have done more had we not listened to that drunk monkey telling us we can’t. No, we can’t get rid of it; we can only tell it to shut-up if we are brave enough.
For the next two weeks, I have a tall order. I have to do lead generating in that I am to reach out to 20 agents a day for lead generating purposes. I am sure that many agents are thinking, “A call from a home inspector? How dare!” I discussed this with my coach. Help me to understand what makes you, an agent, any different from me when it comes to providing a level of income that will support the members of my staff and family? You call past clients, friends and family and ask for leads in order to become a mega or super agent, why is it any different for a service provider to have the same desires and aspirations?
Although I learned a lot, I left the break-out session with more questions than answers. These were some of them. I will go to sleep tonight and let my subconscious work on them. I do believe that every question has an answer and I will work to find the answers.
And that my friends, is my 2¢’s worth for this evening.
