Your Ads- Do You Know What You're Saying?!?

Earlier today I received an email ad from a local company.

One of the things that this ad stressed was that NOW!!! they had the SECOND BEST ( ) well, fill in the blanks for yourselves - because it really doesn't matter!

This company was proud of the fact that they were not the best!

Now I know that wasn't their intention, but all they did was say that YOU CAN DO BETTER WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!

We all spend a ton of money on advertising- soooooooooo let's make sure it makes us look good.

Duh.

What did that ad make me do? I deleted it immediately and went looking for who was #1.

Of course they may have just moved UP to #2 - and improvement is always to be applauded.

But if you're going to advertise, KNOW what you're saying.

I have found that I do a better job when I write the ad, put it aside, and then go back and read it later before submitting it. OR have someone follow me up and read it. Thanks for the post.

She's right here! I was at dinner last night.....with the same group that I was with at Ruth's Chris. Guess what, three hour dinner AGAIN! LOL I had a wee bit too much wine. I have the second best headache I've ever had.
