Not Denver real estate related.....but life related.....
February - April were a tough time for the Scheer's. My 11 year old son was diagnosed with a fairly serious medical condition that required 2 surgeries. We were relatively quiet about everything to minimize his anxiety, as well as ours. But its over now.
I felt so fortunate to have the flexibility to work form home when he needed me to be here. And it was also great to be able to spend the extra time with my daughter when she needed the extra attention as well.
He is doing well now. Recovering very nicely and as a hockey player, he hopes to be back on the ice in a week or so. That is the one thing that has been hard on him, to not be active and skating.
Just wanted to give a special shout out to every single person that was involved in his recovery - I can't name them all because I am afraid I will forget someone - but everyone we have worked with has been so great. And especially his surgeon - I just can't thank you enough. And for those at my office that were so nice and sent the card to him, thank you. And to Graham - for what you did, you have no idea how much that boy looks up to you. His excitement when you came by was quiet, but inside he was busting at the seams. And a thank you to all of my customers I was working with, especially that last week, when things were just chaotic. Your understanding spoke volumes.
So in the midst of this, The Boss (wife) went soft. We have been all, except for her, longing for a dog. I don't think its not that she did not want one, but she didn't want the entire responsibility solo. I knew that once the kids were older she would change her mind. And so she did. And it was already a play in progress before everything else happened but I have to say that the timing was very good - it has been a great distraction for all of us.
This little guy was born on St. Patty's Day. His temporary name, is Patrick. He comes home soon. The funny part, The Boss is probably the most excited of all. She has found all sorts of new ways to spend money.
