"If you don't pay into Zillow, How Do You Get Leads?"
I love it when a Q&A question, Blog Post or Blog Comment inspires my next blog topic, because it's a passionate, transparent blog in response to a great question.
For her question and the inspiration of this blog;
Thank You JULIE MACGREGOR
I wrote a blog on 04/05/16, simply showing a technique you can use on Zillow, to update the criteria facts & description of your listings, to help you and your seller ward off the fools that think Zillow is factual. It was called: Take It Back! (from Zillow)
Posted Views Comments LIKES! Short Clicks
It was not a promotion to help Zillow, (my paltry few hundred listings would change much on Zillow's over all inaccuracy anyhow). So really, it was more about taking back ownership of your home and your listings as far as the facts, so it didn't impact the sale. You and I know Zillow is joke, you and I can’t stan Zillow, but "Joe Public" still believes what they read on the Internet, so we still have our work cut out for us…like it or not, you can’t just ignore it.
So in the comments, in fact comment #70 in just 3 days! I read Julie’s very genuine, authentic question:
OMG thank you for asking!!!
#1 I get referrals every month: past clients, current clients I'm working with and networking.
#2 From Other REALTORS! yes My Buffini & Active Rain Networks send me referrals every year!
#3 From Active Rain Blogging, I've closed 3 deals so far because of ActiveRain, and that may have been a higher number, but I approached AR too casually for years, when I got serious, the referrals started.
#4 I get sign calls off my listings including: Just Listed & Just Sold postcards.
#5 My reviews on Yelp.com and other sites are positive.
My response; I wanted to share it with a bigger audience because you all have the same goldmine I do at your finger tips, you just need to contact them regularly, show you care and create community. You will build a significant business if you do.
There are so many better ways than online leads, most are right inside your database and Geographic Farm, your Chamber of Commerce, BNI, Rotary, your kids school, church, organizations & clubs you attend, etc.
See most of you are successful, but that success dies with you. When you help other people get what they need; a house, a business tip, a referral that contributes to the success in their own business, etc. You build significance, and significance lives on beyond you, because of you.
