Make Sure Your Home Is Ready For The Warmer Months Ahead

With winter now well and truly behind us, we can all now look forward to the warmer months to come.

It's a great time, however, to make some simple checks around the home so that everything is set well in advance of summer.

And of course if you're planning to sell your home soon, there's even more good reason for sorting everything out now.

OK, here goes:

Outside Faucets/Sprinklers - Check these for any winter damage due to freezing temperatures etc.

A/C units - An annual service now will ensure everything is working right for when you need cool air the most. It also ensures optimum energy efficiency too!

Swimming pools - Unless you hire someone to fully maintain it ( a great idea), there will very likely be plenty to do in advance of using your pool again. Winter covers need to be removed with lots of cleaning to follow. Remember too that it's a good idea to trim and prune any surrounding hedges/trees etc that may have grown since you last used the pool.

Lawn mowers - Whether they are push or sit on lawn mowers, these machines are often overdue for a little TLC following their winter rest.

Walkways/Drives - Inspect concrete areas for any bad weather damage.

Paintwork - Winter can takes its toll on paintwork, so thoroughly inspect your home exterior and make reparations where necessary.

Roof tiles/shingles - Check the roof to see if any tiles or shingles have been lost or damaged.

Decks - It’s a great idea to powerwash decks to clear residual winter dirt and debris.

Gutters - Ensure there are no potential blockages due to leaves etc.

Window screens - These are somewhat prone to weather/wind damage, so an inspection is highly recommended.

Fencing - Carefully inspect fences for as yet unspotted damage and weaknesses.

Ceiling Fans - Make sure these are now set for cool downward airflow.

Garage space - Garages tend to get filled up with all sorts of things over winter, so what better time than now to make sure your garage space is as tidy and safe as possible.

We hope you find at least some of these tips of use. If your tidying up is an early stage in your preparations to sell your home, why not call us today for an informal discussion of how we can help you make the most of the incredible opportunities for sellers at the moment.
