College Station Chilifest 2016
College Station Chilifest 2016 isn't technically in our College Station community. Instead, it is located a short 15-20 minute drive southwest in the town of Snook, TX. This music festival draws big crowds thanks in large part to the amazing talent that performs live on stage. This year, that includes Roger Creager, ZZ Top, Parker Heights and the Turnpike Troubadours, just to name a few.
All ages are welcome to attend the College Station Chilifest 2016. But parents need to keep in mind that this festival draws a primarily college-aged crowd. They tend to be loud. Also, it is not unheard of to have as many as 40,000 people at the festival over the weekend. This might be a great time for the kids to visit grandma and grandpa. Proceeds from the College Station Chilifest 2016 will benefit several local Brazos Valley charities. Since its inception, the Chilifest has managed to donate more than $2 million dollars. Beneficiaries include the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, Brazos Valley Hospice, Voices for Children, the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley, Bryan Protection Firemen, the Boys & Girls Club of Brazos Valley and others.
The Starlight Ballroom is an outdoor facility. If you plan on going to the College Station Chilifest 2016 this weekend, you may want to bring an umbrella. The weatherman is predicting some thunderstorms. Although, Friday should be mostly sunny. With a line-up like the one scheduled for the festival, it's worth standing in a storm.
