What a fun week for the Tigers

By

One of the ways I handled the burnout that I was faced
with a week
I have a crush on Paws ago was attending the Detroit Tigers ballgame
vs. the Texas Ranger  on Wednesday night, courtesy of a
good friend of mine.  (Thanks again Brian!)

Yes, that was the game that ended up being what is called
a "laugher".
The Tigers hitters appeared to all come out of
their slow starts all at once. It was also the game that Curtis Granderson came off the disabled list and the standing ovation
he received from the fans gave me chills.   I can't tell you how
good it was to see him back in the lineup!

My Tigers surely had a slow start to the season, losing the first 7 games they played.
It was disheartening to read all the doomsday news about the team, so I stopped reading
and simply kept enjoying the game and the team that I care so much about.

Since that slow start the Tigers have won their last 7 out of 11 games played and today
they are tied for third place in the Central division.  A win tonight would put the Tigers in
sole possession of 3rd place, just 2 games behind Cleveland and Chicago.

Ouch...Kris, be gentle..those are my longsuffering Rangers you're talking about..  :-(

Seriously, Idon't see how the Rangers can do any worse..they're AWFUL!! I'm glad your Tigers are doing better. I love baseball and love to see a winner. The Rangers just plain don't care if they win.

Kris, Not a sports fan but after 10 years in the Detroit metro area, I may catch a Tigers game with my office this August.  Just seems appropriate.  Burn-out in Michigan?  I cannot imagine what you are talking about!

Kris, I know that the Tigers were off to a bad start and were at the bottom of the heap. Good to see that the bats are heating up. Keep us posted.

Ernie and Barb:   I think the Yankees will be right there at the top of their division when fall arrives.  They always are.

Linda:   I'm really surprised the Rangers haven't done so well this year.  When I look at the individual players they seem to have a good team.  I'm sure they do want to win, it's just tough without pitching.  I feel for you - I was a long "suffering" Tigers fan for many years.

Mike:  My hands were stinging from clapping so much :-)

Susan:  You should catch a game.  They are so much fun.  Ditto on the "burnout" sarcasm :-)

Michael:  I will, thanks.

Gary:  I hope so.  I'm seeing encouraging signs now.

Kris,

I've got to get to a game the next time I'm in town. I've never been to the new stadium as of yet. I grew up going to the old stadium.

Kirk:   I still am heartsick about the old stadium, but the new one is really nice.  In fact, I think SI voters ranked it#4 in the country.  The biggest thing I think that stands out is that even in the concourse area you can see the field.  Couldn't do that at the Corner!

Thesa:  I'm old also :-))   Jump on a plane when you can, I'll take you to a game.
