Does the rain have to get us down? Lots of people can barely get out of bed when it’s raining. They don’t want to face the day, and they’d just as soon slip under the covers for hours.
Sitting at my computer this morning (and yes, I do tend to write blogs ahead of time), I’m looking out at the rain, and I’m remembering all the times in my youth when I wanted to play in it. A warm gentle rain was the best kind. A rain that didn’t cause you to shudder with chills made you want to stay out in it forever! I remember my mother telling me if it thundered, I’d have to come in, and I always hoped she wouldn’t hear the thunder I heard in the far-off distance.
Rain showers actually make me feel good. Because they remind me of days gone by, of times that weren’t quite as harsh as today, I tend to enjoy them. It’s easy for me to be in a good mood when it’s raining, as long as the rain doesn’t last more than a few days. Rain comes into our lives in the most unusual ways some times. We start out sunny, lots of potential ahead of us, and then the sky darkens, the sun disappears, and the fluffy clouds turn into grey, foreboding ones. It’s that way with life as well. You’re in a job that seems to be going okay, but something just doesn’t feel right. The longer you stay in that job, the easier it becomes to recognize your discontent, and without warning, the skies seem to open up and rain floods you constantly.
Living with discontent is not fun. We deserve to enjoy life, and it’s always a double whammy when you can enjoy work and enjoy life together. The rain that comes into our lives doesn’t have to get us down if we’re doing something we love. If you’ve had this longing in your heart, this aching to change your life around, and these desires involve practicing real estate, then you owe it to yourself to look at making the switch. You have rain in your life, but that rain doesn’t have to get you down.
