March Madness Did not Reflect in Fairfax County Housing Market-2016 March

The neighboring county of Loudoun county showed a strong housing market in March 2016 compared to Fairfax County real estate market. Fairfax housing was a mixed bag of numbers in the March 2016 real estate report.

Some assume Fairfax housing market has slowed down due to aging or older homes and while others think due to outrageous housing pricing in the area!

In my over a decade of real estate experience with the Northern Virginia home buyers and sellers,  I always feel buyers and sellers will pay a premium to stay in Fairfax if that is their ultimate lifestyle decision. I sell across both the Counties like any other area in the country it has its own strength and weaknesses.

Going back to our housing market in the Fairfax county, the overall sales volume slipped a bit and we did see a slight rise in the pricing of the home. Inventory continues to be high. The average days on the market has increased to about 2 months which may go down as we enter into full spring market in April & May 2016.
