Think of a time when you stayed at a fabulous hotel...picture the bathroom! When you first walked into the bathroom was it sparkling clean and fresh smelling? Where there fresh towels as well as new bottles of shampoo and bars of soap? Did they add that extra touch of folding the toilet paper into a fancy design? Just being in the hotel bathroom probably made you feel ‘pampered’ like you would at a spa. Can we all learn from the hotel industry when it comes to staging a bathroom when selling your home? I think so!
The hotel industry knows that in order to make a room look inviting and restful they must be absolutely certain the bathroom is spa-like. They know that if a customer is impressed with a bathroom, they will most likely feel the same way about the rest of the room and property. And they also know that they will become frequent guests of the hotel if they feel pampered and at home. Very smart, don't you think?
Selling Your Home – Importance of Bathrooms
When you’re getting ready to sell your home it is very important to follow the hotel industries model for making the bathroom a restful and inviting space. First, make sure that all your bathrooms are clean, clean, clean - from top to bottom which includes fixtures, walls, windows, lights, everything. If it's been awhile since the room was painted it would be smart to give it a fresh new look with a soft and soothing color. Remove all the items you don’t need or use often and then organize your drawers and cabinets with a fresh new liner. Purchase soft towels and display them as you'd see in a hotel. Add a pretty plant or two and home buyers will feel like they've walked into a hotel bathroom!
