Streets in Katy "Proper" are lined with flowers, trees, due to our warm year-round climate, it seldom gets cold in bradford pear treesKaty Texas, so we can luckily grow just about anything, featured here are flowering Bradford Pear Trees.  Of course March in Katy Texas is one of our most glorious months, due to the azalea are in full bloom and they are everywhere you eyes can see and come in pinks, purples, whites + they are a beautiful evergreen shrub too, so when not in bloom they stay bright green year round...but it's when they bloom they are show-stoppers!  Shorts in December anyone?  More to Katy, Texas.

Liz Carter & Team RealtyLiz Carter & Team Realty (I'm in the middle) stopped in front of these magnificent white azaleas in full bloom for a photo to put in the paper for our award by the Houston Business Journal.  I have ranked every year for the last 13 years that the HBJ has been tracking production of the top agents in the greater Houston MLS, which includes Katy, Sugar Land, and the surrounding areas.  There are 27,000 Realtors in the Multiple Listing Service and I have placed in the top 25 every year for number of homes sold and total dollar value.  When we saw these beauties after the awards breakfast it seemed the perfect photo op!  The Azaleas bloom in March-April every year.  They have an azalea trail that you can take a guided tour of some of the older more exclusive homes and marvel at the beauty of these flowers that are common to our area.  It's worth a trip here during that time of the year, or better still just more here and you can enjoy our sub-tropic type weather year round.  The humidity is good for your complexion too.

Since Texas is so large here is a map of the state of Texas to show you how close to the Gulf of Mexico we are.

state of Texas mapgolf couseGolf Courses are everywhere, and our mild weather allows you to play year round.  Katy, and the greater Houston area are also very green.  It's one of the first things I hear people comment on, "I never realized how green it is here.  We also have so many parks, sports, and outdoor things to do.

Shop till you drop at Katy Mills Mall in Katy Texas.  It has "Neighborhoods", that announce when you go in the doors which neighborhood you are in so you don't get lost.  There is a stadium seating movie theater, a dance hall, and of course a Bass Pro Shop to die for  Not to mention all the other outside the mall attractions, hotels, restaurants, and the area just keeps growing.  If this is not enough, Houston is a short drive.

Liz, this has been a good way to introduce people to Katy. I have not been to the Nelson Water Gardens yet this year, but I should head back (I gave up on my pond when I discovered that my golden retriever was going to spend so much time in it).

Ms. Liz, this is your friend BWP; you really know how to promote your wonderful area over in Katy, TX. Maybe we will come up and spend the day sometime and visit Nelson's Water Gardens. We have only been to the Bass Pro and several stores when stopping off the interstate on our way back from Lake Charles to Canyon Lake.

As always, your pics are great.

BWP -your finding your way around AR very well, so when is your blog site going up? :)  You will need to bring Mr. Greenie when he is in a spending mood, I have a hard time just going in to buy fish food for my Koi pond, in fact it never happens.  They have these new bird baths this year on a metal stand and the basin is made of glass that is painted...oh heres a picture looking down into the bowl area,

It's a work of art, and the stand it metal.  Call me I'll meet you, L

Missy, wait till you see the post I'm doing on Wildflowers for the Texas Real state group.  Glad you liked it.  L

Hi Christiana, I got the spacing fixed thank goodness, looks a lot better.  Maker the pictures smaller again as you said really helped.  Thanks, L

Frank, yes it's one of my favorite places in Katy, my money and I go there often.  I've had a Koi Pond for several years, and I've got some big fish, but dogs and ponds don't do well, especially a Golden or Lab.  Just put a pool in then you can redo your pond :).  Check out the other ones I've done on Katy, Houston, Cinco, etc.  L

Don - thanks that makes me feel very good about my post if it made you feel like you were back here, check out my other ones too when you have time.  L

Liz:

This is a great post. Congratulations. I have given a great deal of thought to what I would like to learn from you. What I really need to learn is:

1.  How to put together a system and organize my office.

I love your daily schedule and I have spent the time since I read your post a week ago, cleaning my office and gathering my files to one location. Today, I plan to print my daily schedule.

Have a blessed week.
