History of a Painting -

Teaching Art Classes - Part 1

In he mid 1980s, One of my fellow artists asked if I would teach some classes in her Arts and Crafts Supply Store, in Cartersville, Georgia, where we lived at the time.  Over an 18 week period, I taught some basic paintings, with 17 of them done in several hours once a week.  Each painting taught them some techniques they could use later. On the last painting, we started "Behind the house", which we painted over a 4 week period. I had around 10 to 12 students.  It was a lot of fun and they enjoyed the class.

The rest of the paintings, I will cover in Part 2.Click here for part 2

I have done Chiaha Harvest Festival in Rome and the Cave Springs Festival in its early years.  My Barber painting was from the Cave Springs Barber Shop.

Larry I have no doubt you were an excellent teacher, and that your student benefited from what they learned from you during that 18 week period.

I took a few painting classes in the 70's. I don't think I ever got very good at it. You definitely have talent, Larry.
