Texas is Home to Great People - A Must See Video!!!

By

Let's get on board to applaud this great man who found something useful to do with his time all for the love of homeless dogs! Don't these dogs look happy? This 80 year old man from Fort Worth, Texas is truly special and I think the dogs will see to it that he enjoys the rest of his life too!

Many years ago, I heard dog spelled backwards is god. I believe all dogs have a purpose in life; yet some people don't see it that way and they abandoned them. This past Sunday I went to the 2016 Greyhound Adoption League Birthday party and had a great time. I am grateful that my friend Jane allows me to stay with her pets when she travels with her husband. It gives me a chance to spend quality time with her great pets who are in many ways kinder than people.

In past years I paid a lot of attention to the greyhounds; this year I paid more attention to the people who adopted greyhounds and brought them into their lives. This time, I looked deeply into their eyes. They all had one thing in common - contentment! They had a peaceful look upon their face, kind, and very respectful towards animals and people. As for the greyhounds, they were calm, well taken care of, very well mannered (better than most children), and polite around people. I'm convinced, the best loyalty on earth exists between dogs and their owners.

This post is dedicated to my friend Jane and her husband Bruce. They allow me the privilege to receive unconditional love from their beloved pets.

Endre Barath, Jr. - Memorable video; one you won't forget! I'm glad there are people like him in this world! Since I don't know the man personally, I wanted to write about an event I know well and the people and their pets whom I treasure.

I recall seeing this dog-lightful story awhile ago! I could do this when I'm 80! Well, for now, since Kasa woke up and started whining after hearing these pooches on patrol, I have to go feed her, Takoda and Della and Pearl (our mule and horse, new additions for older dames here On Golden Ranch)!!

I love what you wrote about the Greyhound rescue folks. They've proven that by petting a dog, your blood pressure goes down. Since my "oldest sister" was a Boxer, I am wondering if that's why I've always had low blood pressure--good breeding, I guess!

Patricia it takes someone special to do what this 80 year old man does.  That is a lot of dogs to take care of.

Hello Patricia Feager

Lovely video, lovely man...a fellow dog rescuer!

And yes, greyhounds are a very special breed and my husband and I have had many grey's over the years from Greyhounds Unlimited, another rescue organization that we have supported for many, many years.

What a wonderful video Patricia - it is heartbreaking to me that anyone would do harm by abandoning such beautiful creatures.  I agree that dog spelled backwards gets us closer to God.
