The St. George UT Cinco de Mayo Festival and more events will keep your weekend filled with fun. Aside from the Cinco de Mayo celebration, you can also enjoy the Annual Ironman 70.3 and Free Comic Book Day. All three events are very popular events around Southern Utah, and great for the whole family to partake in. This Saturday, May 7, 2016 will be one of the most active Saturday’s of the year. St. George UT Cinco de Mayo Festival
This ever popular festival is the perfect outdoor event if you want to experience the true culture of Mexico. They always have a huge variety of homemade Mexican dishes to try from the vendors. And, you get to see the culture outside of the local areas norms. The St. George UT Cinco de Mayo Festival is an annual event that helps raise money for various church projects. Last year’s festival raised enough money to buy a new sound system. They are hoping to raise enough funds this year for educational purposes.
Fundraising has already begun by many of the children to start raising the needed money. They are currently selling homemade tacos and enchiladas. Children who participate in the fundraising activities get the special honors of being crowned King and Queen of the St. George UT Cinco de Mayo Festival. And, the child who sells the most tickets will get a free trip to Disneyland.
To add to the fun of the St. George UT Cinco de Mayo Festival, there will be lots things to see and do. You will find dunking booths, folkloric dances, sumo wrestling, bounce castles, live music and more. However, many attendees come for the amazing, authentic food.

Ironman 70.3 Races
St. George is now home to one of the season’s earlies Ironman 70.3 races. This triathlon is staged in and around the heart of the city. You will find that the run and bike courses are some of the most challenging on the Ironman 70.3 circuit. Each have amazing views of the entire area from red rock canyons to the open desert. The swim portion of the event is held at Sand Hollow Reservoir, where participants will be bussed to the start line.

Free Comic Book Day
This Saturday, Comics Plus, the local comic book shop will be bringing in artists and writers. They will be offering great storewide deals and giving away free comic books. You can save anywhere from 25% to 50% on storewide items this one day only. If you love comic books, don’t miss this event.
