THE GALLATIN COUNTY IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY...

The community is child friendly, there’s plenty of open space for them to run around soaking up fresh air and the schools are top notch.  While there are many places where families will pay a huge tuition for private school because the public school system is lacking, Bozeman is not one of them.  The public schools in our area have won numerous awards, pull some of the best teachers and have a huge support system from our community…which keeps them thriving.  That's not to say we don't have some equally amazing private school options!  In Bozeman, EDUCATION GOES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.  In any given school year a student may take a field trip to Lewis and Clark Caverns, have a ski day at Bridger Bowl, visit the Willson for a symphony performance and work with a local artist in the classroom.  It’s amazing all the things our children get exposed to in addition to learning their ABC’s and 123’s.  Here’s a peek at the different educational opportunities in the Gallatin County.

BOZEMAN SCHOOL DISTRICT

The biggest school district in the area is Bozeman School District.  There are 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and one high school.  Although that is set to change here in the near future.  With the Gallatin County growing at such a fast rate, it is finally time to figure something out with our crowded high school.  The school board, district and community are in talks of how to go about this…add a second-high school or re-arrange the current grades and create a new junior high while keeping just one high school.  This a huge issue with lots of opinions on all sides.  Most are confident that the school district and advisory committees making these decisions will come up with the best decision to address the future needs of a high school.

The elementary schools are scattered throughout Bozeman in different neighborhoods.  The boundary maps can be found HERE.  Students attend their neighborhood school.  This is wonderful for a couple of reasons…kids can walk or bike to school and they live in the same neighborhood as their friends and classmates.  Half of the elementary schools are older ones that have been around for decades…they are smaller, in historic buildings and offer a character hard to find in a new building.  That’s not to say the other half don’t offer their own advantages…bigger spaces, nice layouts and more technology built in.  The two middle schools are on either end of town, north and south.  The boundries for them can be found HERE.  The goal is for kids from elementary schools to continue going to middle school with their same classmates.  The joy of Bozeman School District schools?  They are all awesome so you simply can’t go wrong!
