What is the definition of a Real Estate Team and is a "Team" better or worse than an "Individual" agent?
I made a comment on a blog by Kenneth J Jones talking about Teams and (from my perception of the blog) and the disdain for Teams in general. You can see it here: Are Real Estate Teams More Hype than Help?
I decided to just throw out my comments on this blog here in a blog of my own.
For years I had a team... The McCann Team. My definition of a team is entirely different than yours (Kenneth's).
We were a great team and it worked well.
My team included my wife who was licensed and then iced it and just did admin duties so she could completely control her schedule and the kids.
I had two Lenders on board, a Title Company, two Home Inspectors, a repair company, and my true Ace in the Hole...my two young kids who countless times procured business for us at church, school, Chamber of Commerce events, etc. They also were great babysitters for clients children and my daughter still may be called upon to help out.
My son now does the computer work for me at my Land Auctions and is a software develpoer!
I just shake my head and laugh when I hear comments that you need a team...or teams don't work...or teams are great or teams might have inexperienced agents.
They all are true...and we all market to our strengths. So if you have a team...you believe in their concept; if you are a single agent...you believe in your concept.
And I am certain of one fact: We are all just trying to make a living, ehh?

Then and Now...they still are great for Business...though a little hard on my heart!!
