For Mother's Day I think this picture would be quite appropriate. It's my mother and dad and the picture is so typical of the pictures taken during WWII when a soldier came home. They would go to the photographer's studio for a posed picture. (This is all my assumption because I was possibly not even born yet!) This particular picture would have been taken in Georgia. Typically, all the stains and damage that came to this one and to other similar ones would have come from the soldier's carrying a beloved picture around in his wallet for years and years.
The soldier was proud of the unifrom, the wife was proud to snuggle up to her loved one for a short time until he was shipped out again.
Yep, that's my mother and dad and so different from the selfies that would now be taken. We should cherish all the old pictures! Happy Mother's Day!
