Moving to St. Croix USVI is an interesting choice. The weather is great, the island is beautiful, and it's a relatively short flight compared to Hawaii or many other tropical islands. However, there are downsides to consider that most Realtors don't like to talk about too much... like crime, poor governmental services (like police), shopping limitations, etc. For us the positives far outweigh the negatives though.
We started looking at property soon after our first visit, although we do that everywhere we visit. During that process we spent time driving all over St. Croix Island from Christiansted to Frederiksted, from Point Udall to Cane Bay. And then of course we got home to New England and hopped on the computer to scope out listings. That was about five years ago.
Since that time we have not found the perfect house, although prices increased significantly and then declined this year. But we keep hunting, keep trying to find a home that fits our family. During our research we've uncovered many St. Croix websites that have links to the St. Croix MLS, or show certain properties not on the MLS. We finally decided to build a website to list all the good things we've found. If you are thinking about moving to St. Croix our website may be very helpful to you. It called Cruzana.com.
