Who do you know?

By
Real Estate Agent with ReMax Realtec Group

We all like to learn, especially new stuff....

...especially stuff not related to real estate...

...so new ideas can find room in a brain filled with real estate.

So for two days it was all great stuff.

Then they dropped a bombshell ...

The speaker told us about her huge team (I think it was

about 70 people), and then she mentioned that she

didn't have an office. In fact, she had NEVER had

an office - her team was 100% virtual.

All of us was looking around the room - and everyone

else was as shocked as I was. She was running a

$20 million dollar business with a great big team,

and it was completely virtual.

This was music to my ears, because I have been thinking about a virtual real estate business.

I do not want to go to an office every day to manage a team.

I love working from home.

My brokers office would be equally useful if it were on Mars. I do not go there.

I need to find that 'virtual' broker who has hired gaming programmers to create the infrastructure to make this work, real time, in today's world.

Do you know of such a broker?

Have you heard of such a broker?

If you provide the name or contact I will do the followup.

Let me know if I should mention who sent me.

We have been "virtual" before it was "virtually popular" ...the broker where we hang our license is 2.5 hours away...there are probably infinite opportunities for you with many brokers...attendance at a building is not mandatory.  Good luck !

My broker has been "virtual" since the late 90s, back in his remax days.  Like Sally said, most brokers don't require attendance at an office (though may still charge a desk fee like remax).  Since the 2000s he's been his own company and now I'm with him too.  We work out of our houses.  There is no need to have a brick and mortar storefront, other than ego and a conference room if you don't want to meet new buyers at the property they want to see.

Also talk to your accountant, the benefits of working from your house are nice.

A brickless broker, which means the agents are not paying for the building and should see $$$ benefit.

The great equalizer tends to suggest even busting the franchise need is emanate which should have $$$$ benefit for the agent.

However, there needs to be a better way to receive new clients, in the manner these new clients have grown accustomed. So I guess the better description for what I'm looking for is the 'cloud' brokerage with a visionary virtual office lobby. VR goggles not required.

I think you have some good answers here, with a number of different business models that can work depending on what YOU want and how you want to accomplish it. There are plenty of virtual assistants out there too

Though I own two office buildings that I built over the years, my staff has over the years left both of these as very lonely buildings while they work from home, clients homes, or other remote locations.

In 2008 I too gave up on showing up to an empty office and now prefer to work from home, with an occassional visit to the office to retrieve some file or another that is not digitized as of yet.
