I have walked these areas and yet I still always feel I am missing something.  No longer will I have to walk around downtown Bremerton not knowing where I want to go or what there is to see. I printed out the 2008 Downtown Bremerton Walking Map off of the City of Bremerton website. I will be sending these in the relocation packages I send to new residents just moving to the area. This is awesome!

I have been in that store - has some real amazing antique type western stuff - like saddles. You could spend days in there going through all the collectibles!

And...hahaha!!! :)

I love eating at local places when visiting - the franchise spots are great when you're en route and don't have time to check out the local flavor; but when visiting a town, I don't want the same exact food I can get off Exit 27.

When we were in Kansas City we were kind of lost trying to find a local place to get something "local" to eat - all the places had closed up by 2pm, and we finally found a spot on the way back to Independence MO - and how cool it was - former President Eisenhauer had eaten there more than once, so we got to see a bunch of old pictures and wonder what secrets the walls held.

Local flavor is so cool!! Thanks for posting these things for your visitors - I'm sure it will help with the Bremerton Experience.  :)

Bill, I have been walking downtown for over a year and had no idea some of these spots so this new "walking map" is going with me on Saturday!!

Karen, I hear ya - I have drive across the country twice - once via 90 and once via 40 and loved loved eating at the "local" hang outs - I love that show on FoodNetwork - with Guy, Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. That is my retirement dream - to own a diner :)

Sooo... if I were to visit my grandmother and take her to lunch one day soon... where in downtown should I take her? Or would you recommend downtown Silverdale instead?

When I travel I have one rule regarding food. I do not eat anywhere I can eat at home. Sure I've had some terrible meals (I've had them at home too!) but I have had some amazing meals at little places that just looked like they would be fun.

Jo-Owning a diner would be a hoot!

Best,

Scott

Sarah, Downtown on the boardwalk is Anthony's at Bremerton - I love that place and if it is warm enough you could dine out side!!

Scott, Some day - just wait!  :)
