This was one of those days when I had almost no energy at all.

So I spent the whole day (almost) goofing off.  I played Snood (a dangerously addictive computer game) and played with Willie the hyper-active Labradoodle puppy.   Then I caught up on some of my blog reading and comments.    And yeah, I felt a little guilty.  This was not a planned day off, and my to-do list, at least most of it, is going to be staring me in the face tomorrow.

And I have to wonder, does it make any sense to try to interact with clients when my energy level is in the toilet?

It was like a convergence of nasty weather, a squirrely alignment of the planets, and bio-rhythms - OK, I know nothing about bio-rhythms.  But you get the idea.

I did force myself to write a draft fact sheet for a new listing - more about that after tomorrow's photo shoot.  And you know what?  I sort of had writer's block - my sellers are both journalists, so it had to be great.  And it was one of those things I did only because I said I would do it, though I wasn't even close to being in the mood.   And it will be great before I'm finished with it.

So now, more goofing off!  I'm vegging out in front of the television set watching my weekly addiction, Dancing With The Stars, a show with incredibly high energy competitors.  Geez!  I'm like slug bait next to these guys!   And once in a while, that's OK.

LOL - I knew of I didnt drag my butt to the office I would have done ZERO!!!

By 2pm there were like 2 people in the whole office.  No one wanted to work today - can you blame them?  It was a nasty day outside.

Our weather didn't seem bad at all, but feel tired anyway. Can't affor it. Need to be running around. This was a hectic weekend from guest leaving back to New York, a party, so I did not have my usual walk on the beach.

Need it badly.

OMG, I can totally relate to the writers block w/ the journalists! My biggest apprehension is when I have teacher clients. I always warn them that my punctuation is....er....unique ;-)

I think it sounds like a great mental health day!

I agree with Vi...come to Palm Coast.  It did get really breezy this afternoon...but nearly everyday here is paradise ;-)  But every now and then you do need to recharge your batteries and no better way to do it than just exaclty what you did today...the key is to not feel guilty about it.

Hmmm it would have been a good day to stay in bed however instead I played in the rain all day.  No that isn't AR rain but real rain.  What did I get for my efforts besides a serious case of limp hair?  A contract, a closing and buyers who may have found the house they want to buy.  Guess I'll have to wait for another day to goof off :-)

James, I didn't even get close to the office today!

Sally, yeah, I guess it was a good day!

And Vi, sounds like a great place to spend a mental health day!

Jon, Ah! The beach!  You Florida guys all know how to rub it in!

Colleen, teachers would be mre intimidating than journalists.  Especially the ones I had - nuns!

And Kristi, Do you ever get tired of all of that balmy air and  sunshine?  It does sound lovely.

Chris, Snood is totally nasty and addictive.  You are lucky it wouldn't download!

And Cindy, you have the right idea - work while the weather is totally crappy and take your mental health days when it's gorgeous and sunny out!

You are making me so jealous!  I would have loved to stay home on lazed around this nasty, rainy Monday too.  Snood?  I better not take a peak, can't handle any other addictions, LOL

Patricia, I'm very much affected by the weather.  When it is gray and blue so is my mood.  When we moved from Colorado we considered Cleveland and then I saw that it only had 67 SUN days a year and new that I would wither in that type of a climate.  It sounds like it was a good day to have a veg day.

When you have those "no energy" days it's best to simply lay back and perhaps play an addicting game or two :-)    We deserve those days.

Pat, well the sun is shining today!  Guess you won't be playing Snood?  Hope you've got some renewed energy today and take an energizing walk around the block with Willie.

Pat~

To me, PACING is IT!

To give and give and give and give energy to a thousand (necessary) projects that encumber REALTORS...and to forget to take time to BREATHE..play...and enjoy life's dazzlers...is to lose perspective... it takes balance to navigate in this world...eh?

I think we have all had those days and you just have to deal with the day and start anew the next day...hopefully with a sunnier forecast!

You need to have those lazy days once in a while to keep your sanity.  Good luck getting back on track today.

Those dark cloomy days are productive for me.  I have mood lighting (Strands of Colored Christmas lights) I plug in and get all the paperwork done, emails answered, the desk cleaned, and the filing done.  I get client calls done, the to do list knocked out, all at my pace.  For backround noise I put in a DVD or either The King or Queens or Seinfeld.  Once in a while I actually stop and watch an episode.

Its a good reminder of why I love this business.  I could imagine the look on the face of my bass in the Corporate world if I tried this in my cubicle HAHA!!!  In the Corporate world I would have to call in sick and get nothing done.

About all that's left to do now is mow the yard and pass out after the shower. That couldn't be all bad! You'll probably feel better after witnessing just how bad some people can mambo.
