If you are in the mobile workforce- Have cell phone and laptop, will travel, than Delicious is just another tool for you to keep in your hip pocket. De.licio.us is a social bookmarking tool that allows you to bookmark your favorite webpages or blogs as well as share them with others.

Just like you tag your blog posts on Active Rain, Del.icio.us allows you to tag your bookmarks, allowing for a more simplistic way to organize sites and blogs. Say bye-bye to those days of saving favorites and bookmarks on the computer you save them on. Del.icio.us allows you to access your bookmarks from any computer with an internet connection.

The convenience doesn't end here. If you use the firefox browser (if your not you really need to start) you can download a plugin that allows one click access to tag webpages and blogs. These tags will automatically be saved into your Del.icio.us account and organized for you. Not to beat a drum, but again, they will be accessible from any computer.

What can you do if you already have a ton of bookmarks saved on your laptop or desktop but you are really digging this del.icio.us tool? In your del.icio.us account you have an option to organize your bookmarks.

Clicking on this will take you to an option that allows you to import your bookmarks. So, they will all be, one more time, say it with me, accessible from any computer.

Finally, one more kudos to De.lici.ous for its ability to allow collaboration. By creating a network within your Del.ici.ous account you can share your bookmarks with co-workers, clients, business associates, friends and family members. Once they are digging Del.icio.us you can share their bookmarks.

Here are 5 K.I.S.S. (Keep it Short and Simple) Applications for del.ici.ous

  1. Ditch the email and tag listings with del.ici.ous for your client.
  2. Have some resources for relocating clients-school information, upcoming events and activities, travel accomodations in your town. How about tagging these and sharing them with your clients.
  3. For your team meeting, instead of sending an email with hyperlinks to sales articles or advertising that you want to review and is online- how about tagging these items and sharing them with your team members.
  4. Your daughter finds some great prom dresses online and wants you to take a look. Have her tag and share them with you.
  5. Your mom wants to send you a recipe for that awesome apple crisp she found online. Have her start tagging and sharing.

Are you digging this yet? Bookmarking with De.lici.ous is easy to do.

Rebecca, I'm getting tired tonight so added it to my dreaded favorites to check out later.  So many things to try and keep up with.  I do get frustrated with favorites though so will check it out.

I have been using this for a few months now and don't know how I lived without it.  I work off of 3 computers on a regular basis and this simplifies my life tremendously.  Good Post!

Rebecca, I just can't get a handle on this whole explosion of social networking sites and tools. It's like intermediate high school Spanish all over again.

Marchel and Audrey- I would definitely recommend taking a moment to check it out.  It will be a timesaver in the end.

Dave- Thank you.  And I know, there are many tools, so I just try to concentrate on the ones that will help me the most first, if I have time, the other ones will follow.

Terri- Isn't it funny, when you get used to the new way, the old way seems so archaic.  That's how I feel about using Google Docs too.

Christopher and Carla- You are very welcome.  Thanks for coming by.

Andrew- I think you will actually love Delicious once you get in there.  It's only the tools that are worth the time that I want to tell about:-)

Liz- Hi:-)  That's strange, I don't have problems with the layout or text on firefox, but it could just be a minor setting adjustment for you.  I will tell you, if you use firefox, not only are there several add ons, like Delicious, that you will be able to use, but also, if you have to restart your computer, or it restarts on you, the Firefox browser will save your settings.  This has proved to be a lifesaver for me.

Vincent- Hope to round out this week with a few more.

Rick- So worth the look.

I have added a keyword tool link to my delicious account that I would like to share.  Here is a link to my delicious account and you can go to the tag keywordtool. document.write('

')

I have used Digg, but, not as much as I should, apparently:)  Thanks for the details, I will pay more attention to it.

It's a Good Life!
