West Texas Luxury 'Barndominium'!

Anyone want to grow grapes for a West Texas Winery?  Or want a horse property?

A dear friend of mine and her husband built their dream home, a Barndominium, on 14.5 acres just south of Lubbock, Texas.  Their plan - live off the land and grow grapes for award winning Lubbock Wineries

While these folks had a vineyard in mind, this 14.5 acre property is also suitable for horses or other livestock or rural recreational opportunities.  No restrictions!

Barndominium 1

This home located at 18715 HWY 87 is situated just 10 miles south of Lubbock, TX, home of Texas Tech University and Buddy Holly!  Lubbock is in the center of cotton country, near the permian basin oil oasis, and is the regional hospital hub.  We have great schools, friendly people, REASONABLE cost of living, and NO STATE INCOME tax.  It is a great place to live.

The home is just under a year old but due to shifting family responsibilities the homeowners have decided to move.    This 2015 Custom built home is a 3/2.5/2 with 3050 sq ft living space in the home.  The overall structure including home, garage, storage and shop is 4450 sq ft and priced at $444,900.00.   The home is well insulated, extremely energy efficient.  The living/dining/kitchen area is light & bright and open concept in design.  While this has been a comfortable retreat for this couple, there is certainly plenty of room to entertain, have family gatherings and space for kids to spread out homework on the kitchen island.

Unique, one-of-a kind Home on the Range!

I'd like to know who built it, and perhaps contact info.

I bought a 78-acre parcel with a 36' x 60' four stall stable in it. When I bought this property 2 years ago, it would have been illegal to build a dwelling in it. Yavapai County Arizona has changed the building code to allow a dwelling to be built inside the stable. It is for sale now. I am hoping to sell it and let the new owner decide what to do with it.

Best of luck to you John! The barndo I had is now under contract and I'm so happy. It is an amazing property but it took about a year to sell. Not that many people wanted to live out of town, just off the highway, or they wanted 4 bedrooms or a larger barn, etc. But it just takes one!
