The John Hancock Building is probobaly the most recognizable building in all of Chicago. You can see it as you approach the City from all directions. It stands 100 stories and is currently the 4th tallest (1,476 feet with antennae) building in Chicago. It was completed in 1969 and designed by Architects Skidmore Owings, & Merrill.
The Building materials include black aluminum and 46,00 tons of steel . Unique are the criss cross beams noticeable on the exterior of the building . The color picture is a view from the 84th floor looking at Oak Street Beach and Lake Shore Drive.
