Is this Deja Vous all over again...........

Or has it ever changed?  The more things change the more they stay the same.  Times have changed since Abraham Lincoln made this statement however it seems like we haven't learned anything from history.  Yes I believe in the free enterprise system and I believe that business should be able to make a profit.  That is why I am in business and I am sure that is the reason that you are in business too.  When I saw this quote I immediately started thinking about the issue with gas prices and how it is the same no matter which company you choose to use.  Are the gas companies working in concert?

"These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert, to fleece the people."

Abraham Lincoln

What a quote from a past US President on things that were going on in his day.

What do you think?

Good quote!  As for gas prices, sure they're high.  When they spiked in the 70's we heard the same thing and economy car sales increased.  We're now back to huge cars drinking huge amounts of fossil fuel.  So as much as things change, they remain the same.

No doubt the oil companies are raking in the dough.  I can only hope that new technology will replace the need for so much oil.  The day will probably come when they need the government to bail them out!

Laura

This is just like the 70's same talk and no action.  Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Joe

Thank you for stopping by and commenting.  Maybe the oil companies will be smart enough to be forward thinking and the government bail out won't happen.

Thesa,

I agree that history repeats itself and we should be smart enough to learn from it.  Thank you for dropping by and commenting.
