Air Show - New River Air Station Jacksonville NC

New River Air Station in Jacksonville, N C presents "Freedom Past and Present Air Show" Saturday May 3rd and Sunday May 4th. Air Show New River Air Station

The Air Station offers the air show as an opportunity

To offer an Open House for the public
Showcase the latest in military technology
Entertain the public
Recruit

The gates will open to the public at 9 AM and the show will start at Noon. There will be no admission or parking fee. Trolleys will provide transportation throughout the day from the parking area to the tarmac.

Just remember where you park!

There will be a large variety of food vendors selling food and drinks (including beer) at reasonable prices as well as arts, crafts and air show mementos.

Visitor may not bring

Coolers
Glass containers
Alcoholic beverages
Pets
Wheeled toys/vehicles

Some things you may want to bring

Stroller for your child
Lawn chairs and/or blankets
Hat or sun visor
Jacket and/or sweater
Sunscreen
Ear protection (it will be loud!)

Tip: Turn off your car alarm system (the vibration may set it off and drain your battery)

The air show will feature everything from supersonic jets to vintage bombers.

LOVE THE AIR SHOWS. Andrews AFB in Camp Springs, MD has their annual air show on May 17, 18.

I'm taking a Sequoia full of little ones on the 18th. It will be a blast.

Hi Cynthia, I bookmarked, but can not seem to locate the post you did where you described the way you changed the fonts and the color of them. Would you mind greatly reminding me where that was?

This post is and the accompanying photos bring back memories of Arm Forces Day at Wright Patterson Air Force Base when my brother was stationed there and I spent the summer with him. As a kid and as an adult, it is such a thrill to see our forces and our air power on display. Perhaps it is just an American thing but I sure hope it doesn't disappear. The pride, the skill and the mystic and the awesome power are thrilling.

Air shows rock! We live in the flight path of Andrews and NAS Pax River, so we get to see stuff all the time. We love military aircraft so much, I've got my kids identifying aircraft by sight and sound now.

Cynthia, it looks like this year is not going to rain! Yeahhhhh this always a great show.

That looks like a cool event Cynthia. I love air shows. I never figured out how you learn to do that. That looks like a good activity for your area.

I love watching air shows, I missed one last weekend downtown Raleigh.

Regarding the Military air shows, I agree. It is thrilling. exciting and somehow reassuring to witness the skill and expertise of our "military in the air".

I plan to be there in a booth, come on by and say hello.

I'm not much for air shows. It is a pain in the rear when you are in the Navy and have to set up and clean up for the air shows. 20 years of that and you wouldn't like them much either. :) Have fun!!

Cynthia ~ I grew up near Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and the air shows were always a treat for everyone. It's amazing to see them. I always wanted to learn how to fly...

Wow. That just looks awesome. My uncle and I wanted to fly across the country in a plane I have and see one of those airshows. Im going to have to plan that one of these years. It looks awesome. I never thought about the car alarms...that could be annoying. lol

Cynthia...my family went to the air show at March Reserver Base yesterday...it was AMAZING.

I'm thinking to post a localism article on it. Wish I would've given it advance publicitiy like you did here, but I didn't see it coming. My wife set it up for us.

Our airshow isn't for a couple more months, I wish ours was in May instead of August when it is 90 degrees out and the kids do nothing but complain! Sounds like I need to fly your way if I want to enjoy a show without the heat.

August is a terrible time for this type of event. Next year just plan to come to the East coast and enjoy our Spring weather and air show. :0) My Mom is heading to Oregon in a couple of weeks.
