Picking the best home inspector is one of the most important decisions that a buyer or agent can make. Failure to do so can result in costly discoveries after the buyer has moved into their "Dream Home" or even lawsuits may occur.

There are at least 7 import things that a buyer should know about an inspector before hiring him to do a home inspection.

They include what back-ground and training the inspector has had; what professional organizations that he belongs to; whether he does continuing education each year and information about any licenses or insurance that he may have.

Failure to know the answers to these questions, as well as some other key questions can result in having an inspector who is not really qualified.

Your so right Jeff. Often, after a transaction has closed and then an issue comes up; everyone starts thinking. Why didn't we get the best inspector, for he may have helped bring an issue to light, which would have been better for everyone.
