Ladies...

On today's agenda is a decision that needs to be made...

I need to find out how many of you would like to take a book break?

I for one believe we all could use it. Please cast your votes...

So far Ann, Ines and Mariana are agreeable to this.

Everybody doing okay?

Hi Mariana - I'm doing well, and very happy to see buyers in my area jumping back into the market.  Yippee!!  I've been working hard with several sets of buyers, and I put 2 of my listings under agreement in the last few days.  And I'm still dealing with jury duty.  I'm part of a jury duty pool for another 4 weeks.  Makes for interesting scheduling when you don't know if you can actually keep your appointments or not.

Good to see you here!!

We are seeing more action in our market as well. Nothing MAJOR, but it is moving! I was at an ERA Shields 10k event tonight - I posted about an encounter that I had. Interesting.

Hi Ladies!

Here's my latest post - Gimmick or Real.  I have some buyers in a sorta slimy situation with a home warranty, and I'm curious what others think about these home warranties.  I'd love to see what any of you think, and what your experience might be with these.

Many thanks!

I have not tried it ona post yet. Probabaly works the same. Here you go:

  1. Write your comment.
  2. Click on the HTML button. This will bring up a new box called the HTML EDITOR.
  3. Find the word(s) that you want to alter.
  4. Surround them with "tags" What is a tag? Here is an example, as I dont know how to explain it...

<font color=blue> This is the sentence that I want to be blue.</font>

(or choose another simple color NOT YELLOW please...) It will then look like this:
This is the sentence that I want to be blue.

or

<font size=large> This is the sentence that I want to be large.</font>

It will look like this:
This is the sentence that I want to be large.

Glad to see you are all doing well. I'm starting to feel a little better about things. I am not spending as much time on AR as I used to. It was a good idea to get away from it for awhile.

Hey Mariana - thanks for explaining that - I will give it a try and see what I can do with it.  It looks simple enough the way you explained it.

This is a sentence like to be green.

Hey, it worked!!!!  Now, to try size...

This is a sentence I want to be bigger.

Well, whaddaya know!?!?!!?!?  It is a little work, and not sure without some help, I'll be able to do this again.  What other sizes for fonts are there besides "large"?

Thanks Mariana!!

There are other colors, but they have to be named via their "cross-platform" color number. For example - the color that I just used a shade of fuchsia, which I typed out like this:

<font color="ff00ff">Colorful Ladies of the Book Club Alliance!</font>
(Make sure you put in the parentheses.)

I haven't been able to figure out more than one size, large, for fonts yet though.  I tried 'larger' and 'largest' but those apparently aren't html words I guess.  I tried playing around with one of my posts again, to try to get it to take in there, and still can't figure that out.  Maybe our little Wiz Butterfly will be able to enlighten us today with that little treat!!    ;-)

The RV show was very disappointing!  They had only about 4 motor homes in the category we were looking in. Plenty of campers, pop-ups but hardly any big rigs! I was bummed! Afterwards we went to Berkley Ma to stop by Marty's RV and walk about his lot. Looked a few that were very very nice but WAY above our price range..nearly $400,000! Oh well we had fun anyway!

New Hampshire: New Hampshire law forbids you to tap your feet, nod your head, or in any way keep time to the music in a tavern, restaurant, or cafe.

Monika- Here are some sites that I found that may give you something more "fun" to write about ... Even though I do enjoy your posts regardless... :o)

http://www.hippopress.com/pubnote/pubnote05428.html -  "... If you can believe it, it is against NH Liquor Commission rules to advertise, post in a place seen by the public or tell anyone over the phone that you, as a bar or restaurant, offer an alcoholic beverage at a reduced price. A bar can eventually lose its liquor license for that offense..."

http://www.angelfire.com/nh/secret/1NewHampshire.htm - "In New Hampshire, you can do whatever you want, if you don't get dangerously huffy about it... New Hampshire is run mainly by Republicans who tote guns. But they're kind enough to donate shelters to Democrats who escaped from Boston when Boston's real estate got too expensive for normal folks to live in."

That's pretty funy Mariana - those are some pretty strange taxes you have there in New Hampshire - I can't say much here, but they're trying to pass a tax change and elimitate property taxes all together and increase our sales tax to 8.5% - I am ALL for it.

The tax thing in NH is odd too. I like my sales tax and am fine w/ my $613/yr property taxes - but if we could get some decent road maintence out here, then I would love a tax increase...

Hey Ines - HGTV has their "Open House Sunday" on right now, and one of the houses they spent a bit of time in was in Miami Shores.  It's a house still undergoing renovations, owned by a couple - Victor and Amanda.  Showed the improvements they've already made, and are still making - they're into their house for $1,525,000, and the agent told them that as is, it's worth $2,125,000, and when they're done with the improvements that they've still got going, it will be worth $2,675,000.  They have what is a huge lot for that area, and it was a neo-classical style home.  Do you know these people?  It was fun to see their house!

Ines and Ann- I cheated. I was reading the 100th featured post by BB and saw that they had this massive font, so I went up to "View" and then "source" on my browser toolbar. From there. I scrolled down through a bunch of HTML until I found their comment. I copied the HTML that surrounded their comment, and Wha La! I learned something new. SO, they probabaly just copied it from Word, but since I never have luck copying from Word, I did it using the numerical font that they accidentally taught me ... Yes. I am a dork. but I am ok with that.

Good Morning America? It IS a cool video, though, I must say. In fact, the artist is 31 years old and had his first exhibition and sold art when he was 10 years old. He does some brilliant portraits - you can find them on youtube: (Here Ines ... for the "Romantic" comment ... :o) )

Hello everyone - I just wanted to share with you that I finally came up with our new website and blog name and hope you guys like it - everything simple and easy was taken here in Miami, it was a very difficult task.  As you may know, we started with www.YourPropertyPros.com  but learned the hard way that we need to spell it out and that it is too long.  We share this so you don't make the same mistake.

So...are you ready?

The new site (it's not new yet...only the name) is:

OK, yes I'm strange - but it's catchy no?  Iregistered all the misspellings of it as well:  miamiism, miamizm, miamiizm

Cool Ines!  I really need to think about changing mine but I'm clueless as to what to change it to!  It is simply too long. Maybe I should buy  the misspelled Monica as well??? any ideas? Currently it is http://monikamcgillicuddytrainer.com/

I had a tough week. Hurt my leg somehow but had to keep on going. Today I hope to rest it. I can not get up on my own or even get in my car...very painful! rotten timing!

Monika - I thought it looked like you were limping a bit Wednesday.  I meant to ask you about it.

Some of my domain names are longer, but they're geographic names.  And I ain't changin' 'em!  ;-)
www.PortsmouthNewHampshireHomes.com  is one of them and I get some good business from that one.  I have a bunch of others, most I use as pointers, but when I come up with a decent name I just go buy it and hang on to it.

We have a BIG, supposedly, snowstorm coming our way today - 6-10 inches here for my areas.  We'll see.  But I am going to the store this afternoon after my lunchtime showings, just in case....I want to have some good food on hand if I'm to be snowed in for a day or so.

Ines & TLW - c'mon up for some good winter fun!!  ;-)

TLW - I haven't forgotten you.......

I agree with Ann about doing geographic domains (and you can forward them to your site) - my farm areas are taken in every which way in Miami, so I had not chance there.   As for Monika - not only is it long, but your last name is really hard to spell....it's almost as bad as Ines Hegedus-Garcia.  I would definitely simplify it - for example, since our team is known as Rick & INes - we also have the domain www.rickandines.com  (just in case).

Can you use something like:  LearnRealEstate or realestatelearning - realtytraining - learnRE....just some ideas - reeducation - realeducation-educateforreal

Evening Ladies!!

Monika - WHAT did you do to your leg?  Is this connected to when you fell awhile back chasing rats?  Or sliding on ice?  Or hiking a real while back?  Have you gone to the doctor for them to look at it?  Stay inside for the next day or so - no need to take a chance on slipping out in this mess.

It's still snowing here tonight.  I think we may really get that 6-10 inches they were forecasting.  So many times, they're just flat wrong, so we kinda ignore what they tell us.  This time, they look to have been correct.

Hi Ines - It was a Sunday, I think, when I saw it, and it was their "Open House Sunday" show that it was on.  I just looked above, and saw that it was on the 11th.  They didn't say who the agent was, but he did the CMA for them and the show to show how much their house had appreciated to that point, and how much more it would be worth when they finished their improvements.  I remember they talked about how large the lot was that this house was on - much bigger than apparently most properties there.  It had a pool, and the pool was high enough that without some landscaping, neighbors had good views of it.  I can't remember much more except that it was a very big house on a pretty lot - I think they mainly showed the back part of the lot, if I recall.  I think it was all on one level, but I can't say that for certain.  Sorry I can't remember more than that.....

How's everyone's market doing?  My activity has definitely picked up - multiple offers, and some over the asking price prices, too.

Ladies...

Sorry I have missed so much. I have been swamped with work, work and more work.

I have popped in here to give you all the heads up.

When someone posts something that attacks another member and reprimands them they are violation of...

<The Active Rain Community Guidelines>

The guidelines are now on the bottom of every page of Active Rain. See the link down there?

It would be in your best interest not to involve yourself in these attacks. There have been several of them over the last few days. Please do yourself a favor stay away from posts like that. They create negativity on this site. The post that was featured this morning has been unfeatured. Why? Because we are obligated to report violations not blog about them.

TLW - I think it's great to now have the guidelines on every page.  I saw all that junk you refer to, and frankly, I didn't understand alot of it.  Blog talk in the outside world just doesn't seem to be in plain English, so maybe luckily for me, I just didn't get alot it.

Regarding the comment you left on my "Unrepresented Seller" post, I was leaving it up there just long enough for Jay to see if he could get the IP address of that person to try to track them down.  When he gets that, he told me to delete both that other comment and his, which I'll do.  I did just send him an email to see if he'd had a chance to get it yet.  It will be removed - it's rude and I don't want it on my post.  Not even sure why that person chose to put it there anyway.

Thanks,
Ann
