When you post images, video and links to your tweets you get an increase in retweets.
There is a 35% increase in retweets for photos, links and video tweets.
Use your best listing photos and you will get more retweets for your listings. Show off the best features of your listings on Twitter.
Several issues occur though, when you post links and photos. A link even when you use the twitter link shortener uses up 23 characters.
Photos use 22 characters.
This means you only have 95 characters left to come up with popping text content that will get that retweet! That is not a lot! Twitter has a 140 character limit on tweets which is one of the reasons the platform is effective for marketing.
Twitter will stay true to its form however they are making some changes in the coming months at what is going to be counted towards your characters and what is not.
@Replies - When you reply to people in your tweets, those will no longer count towards your 140 characters.
Photos- Twitter will no longer count your photos and take away those 22 characters. This will leave you more room for text content that describes your image or have a call to action.
Twitter is evolving with the popularity of video and imagry in social media without compromizing the integrity and mission of Twitter.
