What do you do when your homeowner is strapped for cash and you need to do something simple to make a room or space stand out in a competitive market?
One of our clients recently asked for our help. Even though the market has been challenging, she just knew she needed to do something quickly. Her house was on the market, then taken off and then they were going to try one more time to sell this home. Of course she was on a budget. After our walk through, I was somewhat shocked when I saw the most amazing sight in the adjacent apartment had been overlooked. They converted the garage into a quaint and comfortable apartment. It was a beautiful space, but it needed some color to create visual interest.

She didn't have any great and fresh bedding that would bring this loft to life. My inventory had my been depleted. I knew the next best thing was to go check out clearance items at some of my favorite stores. My favorite stores are TJMaxx Homegoods, Ross, Tuesday Mornings and various thrift stores.
Look what we found for less than $125.00! A complete bedding set on clearance, accent pillows, a matching rug, an artificial coral willow plant, and two pictures. We created a refreshing beach theme with unusual colors of yellow, red and white that gave this space some drama and impact. This loft became the talk of the home. Realtors and prospective clients kept remarking that they would be happy in this home. The Buyer said they actually bought this because it was the icing on the cake in this historic older home. This experience reveals that when you become creative and think out of the box, anything is possible on a budget!
