Marketing $$ Dollars? When to Spend?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Trombley Real Estate

I have had the privilege to listen to the top people of Re/Max.

Their suggestion on our marketing $$ Dollars goes like this:

This is not the time in the market place to slow down on your spending for advertising. Now is the time to increase if anything. Get your name out there. Let the community know who is going to help them with the sell and purchase of their next piece of property.

Be commitmented with your marketing dollars.

This is make or break time and we need to show where we are at in the market.

If there is a time to not spend so much in the market is when the market is so good.

Hello Susan,
Hmmm, I agree that we have to keep our name out there but when sales are slow, money is tight and decisions have to be made where the limited funds go.

Susan - we certainly shouldn't crawl into a cave and hoard our money in a slow, tough market - but it IS a time to evaluate how we're spending our money and what is bringing the best results. Judging from our response, that means putting more money on the internet and less into advertising. If advertising is generating a better return than the alternatives, by all means continue it.

Susan I agree this is the time to advertize more and work more.  It is not the time to slow down on either one.

Susan, I agree 100%. If you do have limited funds then put them in effective marketing that has proven results. There are still plenty of sales going on. If you are not getting a  piece of it then your marketing needs to be re-evaluated.

-By the way, speling erors ar fun. = )  I love writing, droped English as a minor back in the college days though because the grading was all about form and very little on substance.

Cynthia - I know the money is tight. I put away when times were good so I would have it when times are not so good and keep living the way I like to live.

Sharon - I agree on where do we spend the money. I believe the internet is better than the newspaper.

George - Thanks George!  :)

Jeff - And I thought I did spell check, that is what I get when I am in a hurry.

Susan~

I am excited about the positive response coming NOT from print advertising...our web-work WORKS for us!...and it saves trees. (you gotta' know we like that)  When we do advertise in print...we like a local publication that uses soy-based inks...and we like to provide articles that are cost free but PR rich...
