Late last week, new Keller Williams Placester Website was finally rolled out here in the San Diego area, and this could be the biggest of KW’s experiments, and is pretty groundbreaking.
The new Keller Williams Placester Websites are groundbreaking not just because of it’s flexibility or that it is very user-friendly. It is groundbreaking because it has a Domain Authority score 76 from day one. It is groundbreaking because we all received subdomains, extensions of kw.com (has any other Brokerage done that?).
I have had my website for more than 10 years, received many visitors (leads and deals) from google and yahoo, it’s Domain Authority score is 26.
Domain Authority is a metric for how well a given domain is likely to rank in Google’s search results. Domain Authority is measured by Moz.com over a 100-point, logarithmic scale. The higher your website’s domain authority score, better is its quality and credibility in eyes of search engines. For example our market center’s website (sandiegometro.yourkwoffice.com) has the highest Domain Authority among other Keller Williams Market Center websites in San Diego County, and it’s score is 49.
According to Moz, Domain Authority is very difficult to influence directly because it is made up of many different metrics. The best way to improve your website’s domain authority is to improve your overall SEO. In particular, you should focus on building high quality backlinks by getting more links from other websites with good domain authority. However it’s a lot harder to influence domain authority today because it will cost you a lot of money to get aligned with these sites. Many of websites are charging to be linked to your site.
If each of us work on backlinks to the subdomains that we received from Keller Williams, it could ignite all of our domains at kw.com.
The Senior Community Manager at Moz said “search engines definitely know that subdomains are hooked to your domain (main domain, in this case kw.com), and there’s evidence that search engines will count links toward a subdomain to your domain. However, there’s speculation that those links are slightly discounted in the level of authority they pass — they are a stronger signal to your subdomain.”
So even though it is slightly discounted but we are helping each others sites. See? It’s pretty groundbreaking, right? This is truly the Keller Williams Way of doing business. It’s team work. It’s a family.
