The Latest Storm

The latest storm hit us the other night while we were having dinner with some friends in a local Italian restaurant.  I only describe the restaurant because it was relevant to the events of the evening.  The food was good, conversation was the best, and the subject of weather came up.  Bob informed our friends that a storm was approaching, and we probably had about 15 minutes before it would hit us.  Our friends were amazed that Bob could be that precise, and sure enough, about 15 minutes later, the latest storm hit.

Power went out as a result of this latest storm, and even though we had just finished our meal, we were all feeling a bit uncomfortable.  Because of the pizza ovens and the other cooking equipment, it quickly got hot in this little restaurant.  No air was moving, it was dark, and kids were beginning to get unruly.  I went over to the cashier and asked for some takeout boxes and whether or not we could pay our bill.

The staff conferred and the manager determined it was too much trouble to try and get everyone’s bills in order in the dark and then to charge customers.  He made the decision to offer everyone’s food “on the house.”  We and our friends, of course, gave them money enough to cover the bills, but the credit card customers walked away with a free meal.

The latest storm caught many unprepared.  Bob knew the storm was coming because he watched the weather channel, he has his own weather station at the house, and he was prepared.  The latest storm reminds me of our lives.  We make plans, we proceed toward our goals, and then out of nowhere some storm comes in and shakes everything up.  That restaurant manager lost money because of the latest storm, we probably paid less than we should have, and some of the customers didn’t pay at all.

Life is going to bring storms into it, and if you are like so many others, you will be ill prepared to handle the latest storm.  Having a real estate license allows you to prepare.  Even if you have to practice real estate as a second career, it can be the catalyst you need to prepare yourself for the latest storm.  It can also become the catalyst you need to propel you into a career you’ve always wanted and the freedom to enjoy that career.  If you want a real estate career, start with us and let us help.  We can help make the next storm easier to handle by equipping you with a real estate license.  Take the first step toward a new umbrella.

Life is going to have storms. One must prepare when it comes to real estate. It is a contact sport.
