In any kind of Q&A people post them because they have a question looking for guidance or correct answers.  One top agent who bought 20+ zip codes and claimed her source of listings came from these Internet sites. I was next to her office and I knew she was overwhelmed she hired an assistant to keep up with these leads.

I then joined AR. I asked in the Q&A if buying zip codes was beneficial to the participating agent?  I got answers I was looking in a statistical fashion. A small percentage AR members were successful while majority do not have or do not believe it is worth the investment.  I analyzed similar questions and chronology and deduced that advertising worked in earlier years when there were fewer participants and now it worked for fewer agents. I like what AR Q&A provided and remaining as a rain maker.

Q&A is where one goes to communicate. There are people who will not accept a correct answer wanting more information. There are others who want to cut some one off.  If AR was a site for consumers you would see rude realtors cuts in and repeat answers already answered wanting to be noticed remaining in more recent position.  AR Q&A is never meant for a study group which should be in other places like Yahoo groups etc.

Like it or not, we have real estate school students who were told by their teachers to camp out asking questions. They follow ill-conceived Q&A meant for experienced realtors. Many are annoyed at avatars ( अवतार), a decedent of a deity and many anonymous headless figures ask questions hoping we answer or do their home work.

Some even sign up post as experienced brokers and professionals asking questions not related to real estate exam due to new laws requiring two separate licenses to do mortgage. Realtors did not need a license either until 1917. Whether one wants to answer them or to dispute them is up to the individual. Freedom of speech is implied here. Donald, Hillary, Bernie, or Muḥammad ibn is ones choice. Some are vocal; while others want to keep to themselves. When a Q&A site is cluttered with 40 Q&As because the student had insomnia and is jobless, or those who has no life. It becomes annoying. Studying groups are used for students to exchange thoughts and trade test information serving their interest.

Move forward, yesterday I received a nice letter from Utah. Utah? Who do I do business there? It was a thank you letter from one of the students who had passed his license examine. He thanked me for helping him answering his questions. He is from Saint George, Utah, a small town between Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, NV. Like any American town the profession is saturated with agents.  We have several active AR representation from that town. I wish him the best in his pursuit of a new career.

Sam, What a nice letter! You should be very proud that your efforts were appreciated and of the role you played in helping someone become licensed. That new agent is off to a good start by displaying both good manners and communication skills.

There is a similar blog asking AR rainmakers to refrain from making abusive comments. Susan Emo had a recent blog. However, she tried to recruit the newbies to be proactively learn to blog. She got only 1.  The truth is they were misinformed to put in Q&A at the end of each session.  By looking at some immature manners from these students they are not going to be a good people agent, even they pass the test.  This agent said it took him 3 times to get part 2 over and he is starting a career.  I called him and wish him the best.
