I just wanted to remind everyone how cool it was last year, and how much bigger and better it will be this year. It's one thing to meet people from all over the Country online, but then meeting them in person is the REAL DEAL! It was so cool getting to learn about Blogging, Industry tools and technologies, Real Estate challenges and solutions, but the best part for me was meeting and getting to know ALL the people. Too Much Fun!!
This year,ActiveRain staff and many of our members will be there once again. Hundreds of Industry professionals will travel from all over the Country to take part in "The Connect" this year. The "Bloggers Connect" is one of my favorites. Last year we had a special guest visitor, the #1 ActiveRain Member, "Sharon Simms" who traveled all the way from Florida to be a part of the Real Estate Connect 2007. She has almost 400,000 points! OMG!! And she's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet!
You might still want to get the "Early Bird" discount that was offered previously. It's the "Special Bloggers Discount", plus you'll get to participate in some of the Blogging fun!! It's easy, just add a Badge to your Blog, create a post before the event, and then one after the event, and save 150 Bucks. No contest, everyone wins. That's like getting paid to Blog?? If you are planning on attending this year, we'd like to know. I'm trying to arrange some type of ActiveRain Gathering during the program this year (TBA). Brad, TLW and I had planned on coming but our plans have changed so we won't be there. Bummer!!!! But we will be gearing up for the NAR convention in Orlando this November. Hopefully that will be another good opportunity to have an AR gathering.
I really enjoyed the picture/video you did of last years event. I didn't realize you can mix video and stills together. I'm still trying to find my clue....have you seen it:-)
Broker B - That is a Bummer!! :-(( Hopefully I'll get to see you in Florida then...just don't ask me to walk into the lake for 100.00 200.00 bucks! I know there's gators in them there waters right? Did you ever pay TLW for that?! LOL!~
Matt - I did that one in Mixpo! I also have a couple in Real Estate shows, but haven't figured out how to add video in those. I better call Jeff T. about that one. BTW - You still haven't found your clue? I haven't see it. :-)
Love the Video presentation Brad, you know I am slowly becoming a Mixpo fan :) Great event to network and get some great ideas, wishing you guys nothing but success, keep up the great work.
Good thing you reminded us about it coming right up. It's a stimulating event that can really put your finger on the pulse of real estate and mortgage blogging. Besides, meeting fellow AR members is another highlight.
Brad - what a great video memory! and thanks for the good words. Sorry I won't be there this year (maybe Lenn will make it, as this year's #1) but we're in Portland until July 5th and in Orlando for CyberStars on July 21-22. Hope you all have a great time - and be sure to have blogs and videos for those of us who can't get there.
Yep I'm coming and my daughter so is Maureen Francis we are flying together and so is Kristal Kraft we're all staying together. YEA...................I get to meet you.

I'll be there. I just learned about ActiveRain at Inman last year and it took me another 6 months to actually get started. Now 100+ posts and 30,000 points later, I'm looking forward to meeting some of the famous (and infamour) faces in person.

Justin - thanks buddy, I hope you'll try and make it this year, the folks you meet at these events is what really makes it all worth while. Of course there's the learning, the ideas, the networking, the parties....I'll just leave it at that!! :-)
Sharon - sounds like you'll be very busy this go around. It won't be the same without you. Hopefully we'll get to see you again at the NAR in November this year. I'll keep ya posted about the event as it unfolds. It's going to be a great one this year. There's a rumor that I may be speaking on one of the panels. Can you guess which one? :-))
Missy - I can't tell you how exciting that is. I will finally get to meet you AND your daughter. That will make the entire event worth while just because of that! I can't wait! Although, you, Maureen and Kristal all together sounds like trouble to me....but fun!! :-))
Terry - between Jeff Turner (if he comes again this year) and myself, there may be a great deal of the event online and live via our Blogs, Twitter, Utterz, and whatever other tech tools we decide to use while there. We'll have to censor some of the stuff though, that's privileged info only for those who are there! LOL!~ I know you understand! :-))
Mara - I'm putting you down on the list, you just have to make it. If the company lure jet wasn't flying in our dignitaries, I'd have them swing by and pick you up. :-)) I really do hope you can make it. You only live once and this event really is "living!" You won't ever forget it if you come.
Tina - got you down! I'll bring my Giants Jersey just for kicks, or maybe my A's hat....I'm still undecided! LOL!~ Zillow is putting on the Beer For Bloggers again this year, maybe you and hubby would like to join us? Gotta prepare for the game and all you know... :-)

Roland - sorry you can't make it this year, I'm sure there will be plenty of reports, videos, blogs atc reporting back about the event this year. It will be the GRAND finally for sure! Last year, bloggers were blogging and uploading as the event was taking place. This year, I'll bet video and photo uploads will bury youtube and flickr!! :-)

I met Sharon a few times and she is very nice and know a few others from talking to them over the phone.... but can't they ever plan it a bit closer for me? I don't have the luxury to travel to SF...way too long of a flight for me solo...

Neal - then don't go solo, bring a friend! I know it's a bit far from Florida, but you would try and swing it if it benefited your business right? I think you should come. You will definitely benefit from all that you'll come away with after attending one of these. I'm not sure if Florida is on their schedule, maybe check their website to see if your area is included in the tour schedule.
Brian - I heard the NYC conference was awesome too. Wish I could be there as much as I wish you could be here. Maybe I'll try and make it out to the NY event this year. If I can get on one of the panels there, or be a guest speaker, then Jon might endorse and approve it.
Diane - it does seem far when we have access to so many at our fingertips right here in the rain. NC is a ways away, but it would be worth the travel time and expense to join us..IMO! I'll be leaving Tuesday this week to head for Tennessee, for a one day training in Dyersburg. How far are you from Dyersburg Tennessee? :-)
Mara - It won't take a miracle to get you there, just a plane ticket! LOL!~ But I know what you mean, sometimes it takes a miracle to squeeze it into our busy and hectic schedules. I am looking forward to that "Miracle" and seeing you there!
Sylvia - it's right in your backyard, I'd hope you could block out some time on your calendar to come join us. It really is a worth while event. It's only 3 days out of your summer, I hope you can make it. :-)
Ryan - let me just say this... YOU'RE CRAZY IF YOU DON'T GO!! hahaha! Really though, you should make time in your schedule for this one, it can't hurt your business, it will only help. :-) It sure did mine in Solano County and many other parts of the Country.

Nyles - yes, I do believe RE Connect comes to New York, at least they did last year. You might want to check their site and see what other venues they have calendared for this year. I say just come to both! lol~ We'd love to have you there.
We are starting to get closer to the RE Connect event. We will be announcing the "Winners" of the MakeOver 2 TakeOver Contest and awarding the prizes. Make sure you join us for this years event. AR will be having a gathering sometime during the 3 day connect, watch for more details on that to follow...come connect with us this year, it really will be a blast and worth the time and effort to be there, I promise!! :-)
