Oak Creek....a suburb of the City of Milwaukee, perched on the western shore of Lake Michigan is 28.4 square miles ..a short 20 minutes to downtown Milwaukee, 85 miles from downtown Chicago or 330 miles from Minneapolis. It could best be described by people in the area as "up and coming" and coming fast...offering a diversity of housing from typical city lot suburban neighborhoods to

There has been a population growth of 20% from 2000 to 2010...both retail and industrial businesses have found homes in this city. A progressive pro-active stance has been taken to redevelop former industrial properties within the city as well. If you were fortunate enough to grow up in the greater Milwaukee area, Black Bear is fond part of a your childhood memories....formerly located in St. Francis, the Caruso family expanded the business and moved to Oak Creek. Well known for the variety of soda flavors...punch and cream among the birthday party favorites.. flavor selections of sodas and mixers now expanded to creative sparkling water flavors including tangerine-lime, cherry-pomegranate and strawberry lemonade.
The whole greater Milwaukee/Waukesha is buzzing about the new IKEA store that will begin construction in the spring of 2017. The store will employ about 250 people in the 295,000 square feet it will occupy on 29 acres near the northwestern corner of the freeway and West Drexel Avenue.
The school system has six elementary schols, two middle school and one high school. Another elementary school will open this fall.
Oak Creek has a serious comittment to the quality of life for residents and maintains 26 parks with various features for year round recreation including a skate park, tennis courts, pools, skating ponds and sledding hills...along with many recreational programs throughout the year.
