DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals to Educate Homeowners About Importance Of Indoor Air Quality on Hit Television Show Designing Spaces
Mequon, WI. 04/30/2008 - The Environmental Protection Agency ranks poor indoor air quality among the top five environmental risks to public health, and surprisingly, the levels of air pollution in the home can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels. Because the biggest source of contaminants comes from a home's mechanical system, Designing Spaces invited Ductz® Indoor Air Professionals, to help educate viewers on how they can ensure a healthy home environment. The show was aired nationally on Women's Entertainment Network (WE),, and on The Learning Channel (TLC) earlier this year.
Russo, owner of the DUCTZ Mequon, WI. office, says the key to proper indoor air quality is to maintain the cleanliness of hidden spaces by having a trained professional inspect the home's ducts and heating and cooling systems every one to two years.
"Just because you can't see them doesn't mean you're not breathing contaminants, and this is particularly harmful for people with allergies, asthma or respiratory ailments" says Russo, "It's important to ensure that the actual cleaning process itself is both safe and effective. All DUCTZ business owners, myself included, are rigorously trained to inspect and service every type of duct system we might encounter on a service call in order to properly reduce the health risk of indoor air pollution. As a long-time resident of Mequon, nothing could make me prouder than helping to keep my neighbors healthy."
As part of the ten-minute television segment, the Designing Spaces crew is taken on a tour of the DUCTZ International Training House model home at DUCTZ headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan and shown the process DUCTZ uses to rid a duct system of contaminants.
"It's important for homeowners and business owners to note that without the right equipment and an in-depth knowledge of indoor air contaminants and the health threat they pose, it's easy for smaller scale duct cleaners to do more harm than good when cleaning a duct system," explains Russo. "We at DUCTZ are excited for the Designing Spaces viewing audience to see evidence of the capability and knowledge that DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals has to offer."
