I Chose a Professional Photographer for My Newest Listing

I am an amateur but also a proficient photographer but I chose a professional photographer to photograph a new listing.

Wow that was so much easier that usual. I decided that it was time to give a professional a chance and take the stress out of what I usually do in getting the photos ready for the listing and the unique web site I set up for each listing.

The photographer was scheduled for 6:15PM this evening and I got to the property at 5:00 to begin setting things up. The Seller made all the shopping trips and I had decided after seeing the property that I would use some of the things I owned and brought along for the " just in case" having set the items aside for the property.

My helper went right to the action plan we discussed before heading to the property. By the time the outside shots were taken, I had the bedrooms and baths ready and the Kitchen was underway. The Dining Area and Living Room were left to set up.

It was cooler in the house in the early evening and I felt no pressure to move at a faster pace and for sure I wasn't running back and forth between the camera and moving around adjusting things. In fact, I let the photographer tell me if he needed anything adjusted or moved. Seems he liked it pretty much the way I set it up.

As he progressed with the photos, I felt confident that on some properties at least where I wasn't doing a major staging job, using someone else to photograph the place was the right way to go.  3 hours later it was all done.

I will get the photos in a day or so and I will list the properly formally the first of next week as the seller still needs to pack and remove to storage years and years of accumulated and superfluous household items.

Am I glad I hired a photographer?  You bet I am.

Sounds like the right decision to me. I generally use a professional these days, and take extra photos myself of the neighborhood, etc.

Hi Jeff Dowler CRS - It was so easy and stress free. Loved it.

Hi Sharon Lee - You are so right and Happy 4th to you as well. I have so many Fireworks photos, I am actually considering just enjoying them this year and not bothering to lug the camera around. A new experience.

Hi Sheila Anderson - Thank you and one can re-learn how to have fun in our business by not trying to do it all. Lesson Learned.

Hi William - I've always done my own photography, mainly because I enjoy it so much. But I'll probably use a pro one of these days, for that very special property and just to see what it's like.

You are a wonderful photographer, William!  And, I'll bet you could have easily performed a professional looking set of photographs of your new listing! However, most professional photographers carrly some heavy artillery when it comes to camera equipment that we don't have.  I've seen some of that equipment, and I'm envious!
