Facebook Videos or Photos, Which is better?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams First Coast Realty - The Marro Team

Recently I was in one of our Keller Williams Mega Agent training events. The topic of discussion was whether we should be posting videos on Facebook or YouTube, or both. It occurred to me that while I'm really faithful about posting our new listings' photo albums to Facebook, I've been complacent about making videos. By the end of the day, we had our admin creating them for each of our listings.

Which do you prefer, videos or photos?

I suppose that I hadn't been making videos because I personally don't watch that many... well, that was what I thought anyway. The truth really is that I just watch them without the sound. Facebook now has the autoplay feature so you don't even have to click the little arrow to watch them. They just start on their own. Yeah. I admit. I do watch them. They catch my eye.

In a conversation with several younger people over the weekend, I heard many of them say how they prefer video to photos. That they don't care about flipping through photo after photo. Sometimes it is hard to see around your own personal preferences.

This lead me to the truth. Well, at least my view of it now.... To do the best job that we can for our customers, we need to present the property in the ways that will get the most eyes on it. This means posting in both photo and video. We've now added this as one of the many standard markeitng options we provide to our listing customers.

Personally, I like the videos better. Photos on Facebook take longer to load and can be frustrating also.  I like the autoplay feature where i can watch a video without even clicking on it, as you had mentioned.  I have three teenagers in my house and they say that they like videos better also.
