Is being in business for yourself any different from being a revolutionary?
- Estee Lauder: “I didn’t get here by dreaming or thinking about it. I got here by doing it.”
- Steve Jobs: “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
- Malcolm Forbes: “Diversity is the art of thinking independently together.”
- Bill Gates: “If you are born poor, it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it’s your mistake.”
How can you use the lessons of the past to help you build your business?
Step 1: Throw away what isn't working. Just like the colonists hosted the Boston Tea Party, you need to be completely relentless in eliminating those systems that aren't working for you. Keep track of your conversion rate and stop using prospecting strategies that don't pay off. That helps you make room for the systems that work.
Step 2: Build a team. Surround yourself with like minded individuals. Join Active Rain and make connections. Learn from everyone you can. America woudn't have the centuries of world leadership if it hadn't been for the Continental Congress establishing the basis of government. You and your team need to build strong foundations to build your business.
Step 5: Let everyone know you're here. Tell everyone in your sphere of influence that you are a real estate professional and that you want their support and referrals. All good revolutions need announcements.
Step 4:Aim and Fire! Once all of your systems are in place, your team is in place, and you've announced your presence to the world, you're ready to hit the ground running.
How can you revolutionize your business?
