STAY ON TOP OF MIND WITH YOUR BUYER AND SELLER CLIENTS

Staying on top of mind with our clients is one we can’t afford to ignore. Though we all haveStay On Top Of Mind With Your Clients different methods that work for us, the objective is the same.
Contact management is a billion dollar industry but no matter how much money you spend on tracking methods, without a “human touch” would they really be effective?

MAYBE YES..MAYBE NO!!

Is it just a numbers game?

Does it take careful planning?

Do we just go with that whisper in our heads?

I think it’s all of the above..

The more past clients you keep in touch with, the more referrals you will receive. Without a plan, it would be challenging to track your success rate resulting in unnecessary spending not to mention your time. How about that voice that whispers into your ear? Do you listen to it or just ignore it?
I have surprised my past clients in ways that truly touched them all because of that little voice that whispered in my ear. Massages, tickets to water parks, starbucks gift cards..Sometimes, it's just a card that reads "thinking of you".

It's important to keep in touch for different reasons and it's not always about getting referrals, although that alone should motivate you to do so.
Your past clients might want to move or they might just want to keep up with the real estate market. What if they have questions about local events? Be their Realtor for life, not wham bam..thank you ma'am!

I like to share with you a true story that happenned over the weekend.
I received a call from a homeowner in Groveland FL who is looking to sell her home. She found me "online" and read couple of my ActiveRain blog posts, then started following me on Facebook.

She bought her home in September 2015 as a primary residence, however, there were some changes in her life that took her to another county, about four hours away from the house. After renovating the entire house, she wants to sell and purchase one that's closer to her job and family. She didn't contact the Realtor she worked with once she decided to sell as she never heard from him after the closing. No Thank You card, no congratulations, no market updates..nothing!
If we are not in front of our past clients, we will be forgotten..that's a fact!

There are so many creative methods of marketing and ways to keep in touch with our past clients but human touch is still expected even with all the technology we have. There’s nothing better than hearing a human voice or to let someone know we are thinking about them..be genuine, be caring and let your light shine!

Beth, you do a wonderful job keeping in touch with your past clients and it's always apparent to me how much you care. I have no doubt they feel the same way. It's the little things that mean the most. I love finding a simple card to send to a client just to say they were on my mind. So much fun!

Good morning Amanda, that simple card has so much meaning. I know we get busy with work and life but our relationship with our clients is so very important.

This is a lesson I had to learn (a couple of times) the hard way. Buyers now get their first call from me one day after closing (everything okay), then nine days later to ensure they filed the tax docs. And then into the database for normal call rotation.

Hi Doug, you have a good system going. first and last Realtor in front of buyers and sellers most often get their future business.

I listed a home for some sellers last year and a few weeks in to the home being on the market they had some serious life issues come up and decided it wasn't the right time to sell. I have earnestly kept in touch with them this whole time and they just called me last week because they are ready to re-list. Stay in touch with past clients! A lot of them will turn in to repeat business and referrals.

Thanks for sharing Nicole, you did a great job with keeping in touch with them. In real estate, "not now" doesn't mean never.

Any post that features Dean Martin in it is brilliant in my eyes, Beth Atalay ... I'm a HUGE Dean fan!  Nevertheless, your words prove brilliant on their own too.  Thank you for reminding me to "stay at it" regarding my database marketing ..

It is important to stay at top of mind re: clients so they call you when they need info and refer you!  I find the best way to do this is some direct mail, remembering birthdays and inviting them for lunch

Hi Mary, direct mail works well for me as well, I schedule a personal visit once a year.

Beth we've had a lot of fun over the years keeping in touch with clients in all kinds of ways, parties, mailings, lunches, coffees, drop by's, easter baskets...you name it!  I had planned on something fun for the 4th but time flew by this past week (with our Barney boy) and we didn't get a chance.  I'm going to send out a mailing next week for 'middle of summer' drawing for gift certs to ice cream store. They loved them last year

Hi Anna, it's a great idea to give gift certificates to ice cream store, who can possibly say NO? I'm so glad Barney is doing good.

It's important to be just accessible to your past clients as your were when they were your clients. You become associates/friends and is more likely to get referrals.Www.WRSELLS.com
