PHOENIX PROPERTY MANAGEMENT STORY #1: MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN DEPORTED BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
I have been doing Phoenix Property Management for the past eight years. I have many stories to share that people never believe they ever happen. Folks! I do not make these stories up. Recently, I have been taking my teenage son with me to be my witness. This is what I do for my owners when it comes to Phoenix Property Management.
The other day a family member called me to inform me that her father was in the hospital. She wanted my office address so they the family could pay the rent for the month. I wished her father well. I did not think anything of it since her parents paid rent on time each month. I knew them by first name basis as we do with many of our tenants.
I got a call last night from the daughter asking me why I was not at the office. I informed her that I was at an investor meeting. I did inform her that her sister could drop the rent into the night drop box located directly outside of the front door. She insisted that they needed to meet me in person. Then, I had to ask the question “Why?”
“MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN DEPORTED TO THEIR HOME COUNTRY BY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
This was the first time one of my tenants has been deported for immigration status. She wanted to inform me in person that they were unable to pay July rent and wanted to hand in the keys immediately. So, I instructed her to drop the keys in the mailbox. I quickly went to the home after my investor meeting to ensure the home was not in disarray. Luckily, the family removed all items from the home and the exterior was in good condition. Currently, we have this home on the market and getting it rent ready for the next family to enjoy.
