"Bayfield In Bloom", a Month-long Celebration of Spring on Lake Superior

The sixth annual "Bayfield in Bloom" celebration is on its way!

From May 16 through June 15, Bayfield will be alive with springtime events and activities. The event kicks off with an on-location broadcast of "Garden Talk" at the Bayfield Lakeside Pavillion, with Wisconsin Public Radio personality Larry Meiller. Garden Talk features an "Ask the Experts" segment and audience members are invited to participate as part of the studio audience.

Other special events during the month-long celebration will include

Chequamegon Bay Birding and Nature Festival, May 16-18

Twenty-seventh annual 10K "Apple Blossom Run", May 17

Bayfield County Orchard Tours, May 24

Bayfield "Bloomin' Yard Sale" and city-wide Garden Tour, June 7

Madeline Island Ferry Line "Free Passenger Day", June 8

"Blessing of the Fleet" at Bayfield City Harbor, June 15

This year's Bayfield in Bloom celebration is sponsored by the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, with participation and cooperation of area businesses, including several on Madeline Island.

Eric..it's fun to see when different areas of the country "blossom" compared to where one lives. I noticed your apple blossom is probably in line with ours....but in DC and other places...it's over!

I'll bet if you sat down and charted it out you could arrange to see each season at least 4-5 times!

Joan -- Spring is a bit late in the upper Midwest this year! We had snow in Minneapolis just five days ago. There's still ice on the lakes up north. So it may be that things won't be completely "in bloom" by the time the "Bayfield in Bloom" events begin.

I love cherry blossom time in Washington, D.C.!!!

Carla -- Localism posts have become a big part of my business. My clients like to keep track of what's going on in the community and I like being able to provide them with useful information.

Eric You are a lucky man. We just got 6 more inches of snow last night and expecting more today. After last week I thought spring may have finally arrived. But no I guess not. I cant wait to play golf. But that is looking more like June for us here in Summit County Colorado.
