Out of Your Brain and Into Your Website!

Admit it ... you've had some dynamite ideas for your website.  You've even jotted these down or (gasp), you may have even emailed these ideas to yourself!

But, further admit it, you've decided against incorporating these ideas into your website.  Now here's the $64,000 question  ...WHY???

Why have you censored away your own good ideas?  Why have you given birth to these ideas only to immediately push them out of your brain and put them up for adoption?

Studies show that some of the strongest business ideas are originated by business owners themselves.  And you, as a Realtor, are the business owner.

Where am I going with this?

Another exercise in creativity:

1) Jot down (or resurrect) those ideas for your site.  It may be copy ... it may be a motto, a phrase ... it may be a new approach.  Whatever it is, it is yours and it is destined to get out of your brain and into your website.

2) Whatever your approach to changing your website is (talking to the person who changes your site or changing your site by yourself), find a way to get one of your ideas out of your brain and into your website.

3) Monitor its effectiveness.  Do your peers comment on it?  Do others notice it?

The father of American psychology, Carl Rogers, once said that a tragedy of modern American life was that we lost our ability to trust our instincts.  Translated into the business world, we are distrustful of our own originality and we are loathe to project that which immediately and effectively differentiates us.

So this is a new day ... it is out of your brain and into your website!
