What ActiveRain is NOT

ActiveRain is a wonderful combination of the experienced and unseasoned, young and old, cutting edge and old school, introverts and extroverts, people who are actively involved and 'lurkers' who sit on the sidelines and absorb. It is a place to learn new ways of doing business, of finding new possibilities, of learning from the best and teaching those just starting out in business.

Whether you are a newbie or a seasoned veteran in your real estate-related industry, there is much to learn here from your peers, and many who eagerly want to gain options for making themselves better at what they do.

Reading posts and commenting, writing posts and sharing, or asking Questions and giving Answers - those are all part of the experience of ActiveRain. It is a place to stimulate the mind into arenas you may never have thought of, to make you better than you were yesterday.

Blog posts in the Rain are a result of shared ideas, years of experience, and are unique to the author, reflecting the author's 'voice.' Depending on the person, the post could have taken hours to write or merely minutes, but it is the intellectual property of the person who wrote it.

Make no mistake - ActiveRain is NOT a place to find content you like, then copy and paste it to your own website and try to pass it off as your own. That is plagiarism (copyright infringement, theft) and can result in severe penalties, not the least of which is having your website taken down.

So if you come across something that 'speaks' to you and you want to share it, ActiveRain has a Reblog feature that allows you to post to your own ActiveRain blog. Or, if you want to share it on your personal website, you may be able to use the material, just make sure to give attribution to the real author, or rewrite the idea into your own words. DO NOT copy and paste and lead people to believe you wrote it. You may get a whole lot more than you bargained for.
