Tiger Lily, Lewes, Delaware
You will always want to have your camera in hand during your travels. I photographed this Tiger Lily during a trip to Lewes, Delaware.
Subhash Sharma "This nice looking Lilium speciosum also called Tiger Lily that comes in many colours was first described by a famous Swedish botanist Carl von Linne (Linnaeus) in 1753. It has significant medicinal use and its alcoholic extract (tincture) made from the fresh plant in the past, has been employed in treating some disorders of the reproductive tract and also for the nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. It is also claimed that tiger lily flower essence helps in suppressing aggressive tendencies in individuals and helps in holistic healing but this is not conclusively proven."
Mr. Sharma is a Facebook friend from India. He now lives in Ireland and frequently comments on my photographs.
