If you are a Michigan Real Estate Agent who has ever thought about advancing your Real Estate Career and Service to include Loan Origination Service, now is the time.

 Starting December 3, 2008 all loan originators in the state of Michigan will be required to registered and pass a proficiency exam, as well as take 24 hours of required classes (unless you have 4 1/2 years or more experience as a loan officer).

HERE IS AN OUTLINE OF SOME OF THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must have no history of a felony or misdemeanor involving embezzlement, forgery or fraud relating to a financial transaction or securities, and no other felony in the past 10 years;
  • If you have less than 4 ½ years experience (within the last 5 years), LO's must complete a 24 hour live-classroom based pre-registration course on or before December 3,2008;
  • If you have at least 4 ½ years experience (within the last 5 years), there is no live classroom training requirement. You will have to provide proof of your experience;
  • All LOs must take a required proficiency exam and obtain a passing score of at least 75 percent on or before December 3, 2008;
  • Must notify OFIR within 10 days he/she begins or ends employment or an agency relationship with a licensee;
  • Must notify OFIR within 10 days if there is a change in the home address or any personal telephone number or e-mail address;

After December 3, 2008 any newly hired Loan Officers / Originators will have only 90 days to complete their classroom training and exam.

There is a small window of oppotunity if you act today, and get hired by a mortgage company, you can earn while you learn to originate loans before committing to the classes and the exam.

 If you are like the hundreds of other Real Estate Agents who see the added value and opportunity of offering your clients mortgage origination services, then I would recommend that you visit www.IHireRealtors.com to find out more and apply for a position with a leader in the Michigan Mortgage Market, Treeside Financial, LLC.
